Skirting below the crags of Haystacks
After a slow wander across Haystacks we realised that time was pushing on so we headed off to Fleetwith Pike
A tanker traverses the waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Many people don't realize we have oil tankers travelling in our waters.

Ce matin, pas grand chose à se mettre sous la dent à Mormal, heureusement deux jeunes cerfs ont sauvé ma sortie.

RD21472. The traverser outside the carriage shed and workshops at the Didcot Railway Centre. This enables the carriages to be moved into or out and takes up far less space than a fan of sidings would do.
While I was at Didcot, I also took some video starring the amazing Steam Railmotor and this is now on my new YouTube Channel. To make viewing easier, I have broken it down into three bite-sized chunks and here are the links:

QBX004 and CM3310 wind their way through the North end of Junee yard, nearing the end of their journey from Port Botany, as 1311 empty paper train.
Once arrived, the front locos will split off and run to the Junee Workshops for refueling. The train will be split in half and the shuttle locos will continue the first potion onto Harefield to be stripped and loaded. The following day, this will return to Junee loaded as 3314, before the second half is then taken down as 3315 and returned as 3316 to be put together and run to Sydney as 3112.

Close up of the traverser in my train yard. The main line in front is 9V, but the yard is PF, including the traverser itself. On the traverser is my Köf II, behind are my BR70 and BR65 and Ben's famous BR23.

I was at the bottom of the hill and in fact, I wanted to photograph trees in the valley to my left. Then I turned my head and saw this horse and rider crossing the street ... Like what, you have to deal with the unexpected and be ready to capture the images that just happen

I'm playing out an idea here, and in the process I have generated two images, a sort of diptych of the original Traverse. This would be the right hand one. They would be framed separately but displayed together side by side. But....just wait till phase two!
This is also a better aspect ratio to take in on flickr. You know we are still so limited here. I can't wait for ten years from now where the web display will be as large and versatile painting on the wall.
I've added an in-depth discussion of these last pieces on my blog dancolvin.squarespace.com/dans-art-blog/2008/4/13/the-jou...
