Temperatures were increasing and the snow pack was beginning to melt, but this was the "Spring scene" at Grand Traverse Lighthouse State Park in mid March.
Built in 1858 by the US Lighthouse Service. This lighthouse was in operation until 1972. An automatic light tower was built to replace the historic lighthouse. It would later reopen as a museum in 1986.

A few years back I traveled a good bit for my work.

Be well dear friends!!
Golden dawn sunlight illuminates the Quiraing Needle with the Trotternish landscape providing a glorious backdrop.
I was fortunate to get a week in Skye before the lockdown and I keep returning to the numerous images I took there. I made the most of the days up there, with predawn starts and sunset shots to look back on. The great thing about going there in November is that there are no midges and the days are shorter making sunrise and sunset so much more sociable. You just need a little luck with the weather and I was fortunate this year.

I really like the output from the tiny Cassar 50mm - should use it more often but the need for speed takes me more often than it probably should! The lens has the capability of resolving fine detail wide open whilst also being quite low contrast so shots can appear a little soft, kind of 'organic' and leave plenty of headroom for PP. It produces 'soap bubble bokeh' in certain scenarios but can also give smooth backgrounds. Despite having a very small front element it can be very flare prone, as you can see here :-) It's an interesting alternative to the usual suspects if speed isn't a priority.
Judges 18:17 “Yea, the five men, those going to traverse the land, go up—they have come in thither—they have taken the graven image, and the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image—and the priest is standing at the opening of the gate, and the six hundred men who are girded with weapons of war.”
