American beech leaves in autumn make a lovely transition from green though yellow before settling on this orangey brown, sometimes staying on the trees' lower branches throughout most of the winter.
With the Sun falling on the San Fransisco Bay, and this Seagull's flight into it's light, helped me appreciate in my heart, that we live in a very special place! Of all the things I saw out in the world today that dissappointed me, because that's how alot of people are these days, this Sundown helped me let it go; And made me the Freebird!

You wanna guess where this Swamp darner was hanging before it was hanging on this branch? Would you believe: on my nose?
Story: We're used to these big (almost 4" long) darners playing with us: zipping around us and right by our heads at high speed (River cruisers do this too). I watched this Swamp zoom down headed right towards me from a distance, stop and hover inches in front of my eyes - as if making a decision - what a view! I loved just seeing her so close. Then suddenly ... SMACK! ... she attached to my nose! My husband saw the whole thing and was trying to get his phone out to get a shot as I turned toward him laughing - this Swamp hanging vertically on my face (he said its footies were just under my glasses). He missed the shot but lucky again - it went and perched on this tree branch ( her eyes look purple instead of their typical blue - maybe she was new to this world?). We've had mostly Blackwater clubtails & Gray petaltails land all over us - but this perspective of feeling like the bullseye on a dart board and she was the dart - was one I'll never forget. at the wetlands - this weekend, North Georgia
Happy Dragonfly Monday!
J'ai un verre rouge en plastique translucide pour ma salle de bain, tellement plus pratique qu'un verre pyrex par exemple. #Macro #MacroMondays #Translucent
Backlit by the morning sun, an arum leaf appears translucent, while a leaf in the background casts a dark shadow upon it that resembles the silhouette of an ibis.
The shadow from the cloud broke the reflection of the evening sky to give a perfectly clear window to the sand below the surface.
The Macro Mondays theme for this week is "Translucent"
