BOX DATE: 2009

VARIATIONS: Blonde; African American
BODY TYPE: 1999; molded dot panties; one bent arm with palm facing upward; articulated knees
HEAD MOLD: 2001 "Adria/Desiree"
PERSONAL FUN FACT: I was ecstatic to see this amazing lady in the 2023 "Crazy for Bratz Kidz Lot." Admittedly, my main reason for purchasing the $5 bin of 30 plus dolls was the Bratz. I had noted a number of enticing Bratz Kidz floating around the bottom of the blue plastic tub. In fact, I was so distracted by my large headed friends, that I hardly paid any mind at all to the Barbies who tagged along. Once my sister and I were at home, I came upon the exciting discovery of not just one Potty Training Pups Barbie, but TWO!!! That's right, the child who once owned the lot had the blonde AND African American variations!!! It's not something I experience all that often. As a kid myself, I usually bought only the African American version. Since Barbies weren't cheap at the store, it was a rarity for me to get both the blonde and AA versions. I am not sure if the bin came from siblings, or a kid who simply loved the Potty Training Pups dolls enough to want two. Since both gals were still sporting their original dresses, I'm leaning more towards siblings. That and of course the fact that there were duplicated pieces to "1st Edition" Bratz Cloe (suggesting there were once upon a time two Cloe dolls). I'm not sure why the previous owner(s) didn't play with this gorgeous Barbie doll. I adore her Adria/Desiree head mold. Mattel didn't use this sculpt much when I was a kid. Normally, the African American Barbies I bought in stores featured the beautiful Asha mold (sometimes the older Christie one). Since Barbie was so lightly played with (if at all), she cleaned up spectacularly!

CORONADO, Calif. (June 22, 2003) - Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) students participate in Log PT (physical training) during Hell Week. Log PT is a demonstration not only of physical strength and endurance, but the importance of teamwork. The intense physical and mental conditioning it takes to become a SEAL begins at BUD/S training. During this six-month mind and body obstacle course, recruits are pushed to their physical and mental limits. Further development of the core values, Honor, Courage, Commitment and Integrity, is an essential component of SEAL training and one that is weaved throughout a SEAL’s career. First phase is the basic conditioning phase and is eight weeks in length. Physical training involves running, swimming, and calisthenics, all of which become increasingly difficult as the weeks progress. The fourth week of training, “Hell Week,” is five-and-a-half days of continuous training with very little sleep. This week is designed to push students to their maximum capability both physically and mentally. The remaining weeks are spent in hydrographic reconnaissance and basic maritime training. A most unusual choice of subject by Oxford Diecast, the British Motor Corporation had a worldwide fleet of these mobile training units for teaching their dealers' mechanics how to look after the products. They were built to BMC's own design by Marshall of Cambridge on extended Morris FFK truck chassis in both right and left-hand drive forms, and many of them had 'BMC' registrations; Oxford's first release depicts LHD example BMC 34 in its original livery.

Used over many years, the helium kite balloon provides a stable platform for the training of novice and parachutists.
This ex World War II barrage balloon is a large tethered kite balloon used to defend ground targets against aircraft attack, by raising aloft steel cables which pose a severe collision risk to aircraft, making the attacker's approach more difficult. The design of the kite balloon, having a shape and cable bridling which stabilise the balloon and reduce drag, meant that it could be operated with more wind than a circular balloon could. Some examples carried small explosive charges that would be pulled up against the aircraft to ensure its destruction. Barrage balloons are not practical against very high altitude flying aircraft, due to the weight of the long cable required.
In 1938 the British Balloon Command was established to protect cities and key targets such as industrial areas, ports and harbours. Balloons were intended to defend against dive bombers flying at heights up to 5,000 feet (1,500 m), forcing them to fly higher and into the range of concentrated anti-aircraft fire: anti-aircraft guns could not traverse fast enough to attack aircraft flying at low altitude and high speed. By the middle of 1940 there were 1,400 balloons, a third of them over the London area.
The balloon here was used for parachute training for territorial paratroopers which is an Army Reserve unit of the British Army and is based across the United Kingdom. Originally the Battalion covered the North of England, with its headquarters located in Pudsey, West Yorkshire. Following the Options for Change review in 1993, 4 PARA amalgamated with the 15th (Scottish) Battalion of the Parachute Regiment (XV PARA), which was downsized and became 15 (Scottish) Company of 4 PARA. As part of further changes in 1999 (Strategic Defence Review), the Battalion also merged with the 10th (Volunteer) Battalion which then became 10 (London) Company. Under the Army 2020 plan, it will form as a reserve air assault infantry battalion of 16 Air Assault Brigade.
Up to seven parachutists and a dispatcher could enter the gondola and connect their static lines to the anchor point. The flying cable was paid out and the balloon rises to a typical jump height of 250 to 300 meters (800 – 1000 ft). When certain conditions are satisfied, the trainees were dispatched and make their parachute descent from the gondola. On completion of detail the balloon was winched down and the cycle is repeated.

aircraft fire training during 2007 KY state fire school in Lexington... a jet fuel burn... I shot this at a shutter speed of over 1/1000 which I feel makes the flames look alive.
I spent a couple of hours to make few shoots for a friend of mine, when he was training with his waterpolo team. A different kind of photography for me, a style that I never did or be interested on. But it was fun! :-D

Emergency training for ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst
It is a scenario nobody wants to experience: a toxic leak or fire on the International Space Station. But astronauts living and working in humanity’s orbital outpost must be prepared for all eventualities.
ESA astronaut Alexander (white t-shirt) and NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman (blue) are practising dealing with an ammonia leak during training in NASA’s Space Station mock-up in Houston, USA.
This is just one of many simulations in the run-up to their mission, to be launched this May. Reid couldn’t wish for a better crewmate for these types of exercise – Alexander was a volunteer firefighter in his school years.
