We have quite a bit to see in this photo, so please enlarge and take a look around. This is the former Australian National Underwater Training Centre which worked in conjunction with the Australian Maritime College here at Beauty Point. The training centre was relocated to South Australia, but a new commercial venture has opened in its place: Commercial Dive Academy.

The fishing trawler Concorde RDX, in bright red livery, is an attractive sight. Along the wharf the tugboat "Risdon Cove" is parked and waiting to be called into service.
I have very little time for photos this week (busy with work) but fortunately, I caught a quick photo of the boxer in training this morning :-)

You can tell he is very young by the white 'aiming' tip still visible on his bill.
It looked like one of the adults was still keeping an eye on him and trying to show him the ropes with hovering and fishing displays as they flew round the lake together.

A fresh round of snow brought more awareness of possible avalanches in the area, so a few new members of the team received some essential training.

An opportunistic shot from a few weeks ago. I was heading back to the car to go home, and hadn’t put the camera away in my bag, so was just carrying it, just in case something caught my eye. Thought it rather suited a mon conversion.

I've always had a fascination with trains. My dad was a bit of a train buff. He would take me along to model train exhibits and to his delight, I enjoyed them. He had an amazing train set that took up a whole room with tunnels he had made out of plaster of Paris, tiny people and cars and a world he had created for them to live in. I would watch those trains go round and round for hours. Southern Cross is somewhat a big kids train set but like Dad's special train set... we sadly can't play with the trains but we can watch them in delight as rail fans.
Royal Air Force Airbus A400M Atlas ZM400 touching down on runway 05 at Glasgow. The aircraft was operating a training sortie and performed two low approaches and two touch and go's at Glasgow. It also visited Newcastle and Waddington.
I have a grandchild that thinks all his grandparents do is have fun riding around and watching wildlife. It's not all just fun and games I tell him.
Part of what my wife and I do on our morning excursions is training wildlife. Here we are training this young fawn how to pose even when his heart is racing.
In preparation for the retrieval of the sample return capsule from NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission, recovery teams tour the projected landing ellipse in the Utah desert on July 17, 2023. The sample, collected from the asteroid Bennu in October 2020 by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft, will return to Earth on September 24, 2023. The rocks and dust collected from the asteroid will offer scientists a window into the time when the Sun and planets were forming about 4.5 billion years ago.
The team has rehearsed portions of the recovery operation many times this year, but this was the most realistic rehearsal yet. See highlights from the rehearsal on the OSIRIS-REx blog.
