Gipsy, the little kestrel from Schloss Harburg trains his wings. Even if he can't fly yet, he keeps holding them up in the wind to feel the air currents that will soon carry him up into the sky.
Soon he will be hovering over the fields in this stance, keeping an eye out for unwary mice.
By the way, kestrels are the only birds of prey (that I know of) that can fly on the spot because of their low weight, the shape of theit feathers and their special flight technique. This technique is called windhovering flight. Buzzards sometimes try it too, but none masters it as perfectly as the kestrel.

Heidi thinks it’s important to train your humans. Once you know how it‘s done it‘s fairly easy she says. You just need to let them know who‘s the boss and find out how to push their buttons. So if you think your human is lazy and the floors need cleaning, just pee on all your paws while in the litter box and then go tour the whole place. You’ll be surprised how fast your servants jump from their couch and start a thorough house cleaning.
Have a happy weekend everyone! I‘ll be doing some cleaning, I guess 😂

A bit of a challenge, and a departure for me. A combination of mixed lighting, incandescents, skylights, and some bounced flash off of gray walls made for some "interesting" white balance fun, I had to crank the ISO up to 2500 and pictures shot that high on this old 2004 designed Canon body tend to fall apart. I used the new de-noise feature in ACR, it did a commendable job, but it took around 35 minutes per picture to accomplish. Then there was the issue with moving subjects, definitely not my forte!

Before the seasonal Rocky Mountaineer trips between Denver and Moab, Utah, begin on April 16, the company is running three training/familiarization runs over the route. Today, March 28, 2023, the first training trip is shown returning to Denver at mile 14.5 on Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subdivision. This location is just west of Leyden siding. RMRX engines 8020 and 8021 power the 10-car train. Photo by Joe McMillan, 3:27 p.m., 45 degrees.
This cute little puppy is seven weeks old and ready to go in training for his beautiful job: an assistancedog.
Es ist kalt, es liegt Schnee (wenigstens ein wenig). Was macht man draußen? Überlebenstraining! Man kuschelt. Dicht an dicht! So wie diese Schäfchen. Die Schafe haben noch nicht einmal einen "Knopf" im Ohr!
Da ging mir das Herz auf. Ich musste sagen: Wunderbar diese Schöpfung. Genial!
It's cold, there is snow (at least a little). What do you do outside? Survival training! One cuddles. Close together! Just like these little sheep. The sheep don't even have a "button" in their ear!
There my heart went up. I had to say: Wonderful this creation. Genius!

The Australian Maritime College (AMC) was founded in 1980 and is based in Newnham near Launceston, Tasmania. At Beauty Point they have two training vessels and this is where all the practical work for students is carried out. You can see a group of students here piloting a tender vessel as it moves around the training ship, MV Stephen Brown.
Taken at the HBF arena Netball courts. These courts are a spot i frequently visit on my sunday morning skateboarding run. This time there was a young lady there who had just set up some aids for her training. I loved the shape and colour of these mini hurdles as they contrast so well with the courts and the building behind.
