„We had another extra training today. Everybody fears being reconditioned, so our Sergeant decided to take us out to yet another sniping exercise to make sure we meet the standards. It is apparent that some of the men need the training. I, for my part believe, that I am currently in top shape ! Hopefully we get off this waterball soon, and find a chance to proove that we are the very best army in the galaxy.“

Finally, I get around to post something again ! I hope you enjoy this little MoC. It was quite difficult to build the platform and I assume it is one of the most unstable builds ever. But I think it was worth the trouble !

Also, a late Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your families !

EDIT: Check out the awesome video with voice over made by Groove Bricks !

I headed down the next section where there are a series of ladders that enable access to the lower part of the falls. Here there's a beautiful pool sorrounded by a tall forest. A great spot that most of the tourists miss and a perfect swimming spot...although I left that for later...

I filled my water bottles here to add weight and hiked back up to the top and when I got there I thought I should do it again. So back down I went. I thought I'd look a little lower down on the falls this time and there I picked up a track I never knew about. A track that is not on any of the topographic maps.

There was a small sign that said 'Hippocrene Falls Track....An historic route which is rough and indistinct...do not proceed unless accompanied by an experienced navigator"...sounds great!...

Here's me, Taye and WestOn.. geeking out infront of a skiier statue..

"Have ya ever wondered how we Charr stay in such great shape?

Well it's a requirement for one, Bhuer, Rytlock and the other Tribunes would have our tails if we didn't. Even though I no longer live in Tyria, I still have to be battle ready in case I'm recalled for duty. To do that we have to train, and train hard. Since I'm a Warrior class, that means boxing, wrestling, weightlifting, archery, hammer and sword training, and rifle training. You name it, we (have to) find time to do it.

So that photo above? That's my tired & sweaty ass after a couple hours pushing iron, chest and back day to be exact. A friend of mine, who just so happens to own the gym took a quick video afterwards, and wanted me to share it with ya'll. Want more? Let me know and I'll let him know next time I'm in the gym.

Now I'm off for a nice long shower, a couple beers, and a big juicy steak."

Training Grounds

‘This house located at the inner city walls, once occupied by a hard working farmer, became available as the poor man came to die. The army took over the property but instead of demolishing the house they transformed it into a recreational area, a place for soldiers to relax and have a drink after training.

The surrounding area became the main training grounds for young soldiers, a place to discover their skill and choose their speciality in the army forces before going to specialized army training facilities.

A compact but well equipped military structure was constructed next to the old house. The barracks contains a stable aswell, where knights and archers can use the horses for training.’

I was actually about to dismantle the WIP but since it wasn’t far from completion, I decided to finish it anyway. It also exists in digital form so I might release instructions for this build within a few days.

Straight from the camera a 15 mp jpeg ..i only used a ND 2 filter on my lens

Overall im very satisfied with the Canon 50D ..

I took some ISO 3200 handheld night shots and the pics were great with very little noise..

At iso1600 no noise at all!!..maybe i will post some

About the Canon 40d users dont run for the canon 50d..its almost the same camera..wait for the 60D LOL!!!!!!

fOR 400D users like me it is a great step forward for my future development as an amateur photographer at least in the way i use photography as a hobby..

Take care my friends..!

As well as the 68s training on to replace the 37s on the passengers, starting from next week will see the commencing of class 158 unit training in readiness for replacing class 185 units on transpennine services.

Here is 68003 along with 68029 on the 5z58 Carnforth-Kingmoor at Dalton. I was also waiting for the 2 88's on the Heysham nukes but due to a track circuit failure, no trains were able to pass between Barrow & Lancaster. Never mind, they were only l/e anyway.

Astronauts on ESA's 2016 underground training course CAVES pose for a picture in front of a cave entrance. From left: cosmonaut Sergei Vladimirovich, ESA astronaut Pedro Duque, taikonaut Ye Guangfu, Japanese astronaut Aki Hoshide and NASA astronauts Ricky Arnold and Jessica Muir.

Caves offer a dark and alien underground environment with many analogies to space. Deep underground, our senses are deprived of many sounds and natural light. The procedure for moving along a cave wall resembles spacewalking and cave explorers need to stay alert, take critical decisions both as an individual and as a team, just as in space.

The CAVES – Cooperative Adventure for Valuing and Exercising – course focuses on multicultural approaches to leadership, following orders, teamwork and decision-making.

This photograph is part of the estate of captain H.G. Oehme. It shows soldiers of the 87th or 88th Division (German trained and equipped) which were considered the best China had when the war broke out.

Among others, he served as German instructor training of the Lehrdivision which was the core for the 87th and 88th division, here during a trench-warfare-exercise.

Oehme was a German military adviser to the Chinese National Government under Chiang Kai-shek. For further information about him, check the set 'China, German Military Adviser, Oehme'.

Today sees the start of my dedicated marathon training for the Rotterdam Marathon in April (yep I didn't get into the London Marathon this year so I have decided to venture further afield!) and today I am also leading the first longer training run session for the 'Climb Your Mountain' half marathon training group....so a photo of my running shoes for my photo of the day seemed very apt!

Thanks to Vistek, I got to try out the brand new Elinchrom ELC Pro HD's. This is a single exposure using stroboscopic flash in the rear and a single delayed flash at front.

Strobist info: ELC Pro HD at rear with the standard reflector set to stroboscopic (~8hz), Another ELC Pro HD through a large Deep octa boomed high and down and set to ~460ms delay.

Collection of shoes I used and still use. Runners say that you should change your shoes every 700K. Otherwise, the sole get thinner, and you hurt your knees. Good commercial argument for shoe makers. Those models cost more than 140$ each!

I am training for the Vancouver Marathon, may 1st.

I am still playing with Mark's D200. Nice toy. And nice feeling of speed, after years spent waiting for films to be developed and scanned.

Cold, dark, damp and unpleasant today, and these guys were out on the water. Rather them than me!

Thanks for looking!

Throwing another brand of shoes into the training mix. I have a theory about wearing the same model shoes. I have 5 or 6 pairs of my favorite and 3 or 4 of my next favorite. I rotate them to keep life in them. My theory is that your legs and feet get used to striking the ground in the same way. I need to mix it up. I have been (and in my heart remain ...) an Adidas girl. But Saucony has always intrigued me. These racing flats (that I like to train in) have been great so far this training cycle. All my injuries seem to be healing while continuing to train. I think my theory has some merit...
