Alp Grum is close to the summit of the Bernina Pass, and the Glacier Express trains make and extended stop here so the passengers can get out and view a nearby glacier. The line ahead between Alp Grum and Poschiavo snakes around no less than 10 horseshoe curves as the tracks descend the south face of the Alps on grades up to 7%.
A short time at Tain l'Hermitage station saw four freights and two passenger trains. This is a southbound freight carrying new Seat cars.

Seen from the end of the platform at Twyford Station, the usual Monday morning Bristol to Southall Empty Coaching Stock movement turned up something unexpected this week... I'd thought that the Class 47 was struggling a bit when I saw it in the distance! On the left an unidentified First Great Western Class 43 InterCity 125 High Speed Train power car leads a service from the West bound for London Paddington. On the right West Coast Railway's Class 47/0 47245 leads Southern Railway Bulleid Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 Pacific 34067 "Tangmere".
Final train I photographed in Kent, before our long journey of 465 miles home, was of 6M45. 66087 is working 6M45, Dollands Moor - Daventry 'Water' train, and is seen as it emerges from Saltwood Tunnel on Monday 16th October 2017 at 0933 on the approach to Sandling.

Yet another try to create a nice faked tilt-shift miniature. It is a seven exposure Photomatix HDR of Hockenheim train station, shot from a nearby bridge. Postprocessing with The Gimp, some layer masks, a gradient and increased saturation.
Arriva Trains Wales MK3 DVT 82306 arrives Shrewsbury (with 67014 on the rear) on the 08:10 1V91 Holyhead to Cardiff Central.

We splashed out on the 24h train journey from Cairns to Brisbane, doing everything else by plane. We are both big train travel fans but having only a month in Australia and five destinations, we couldn't give up multiple days to travel.
