As part of the 150th anniversary of the declaration of the colony of Queensland, the state owned old QR steam train made a journey through rural Queensland. One of the places vsisted was Barcaldine.

The Dogu Express is a daily train from Istanbul to Kars. I took the train from Istanbul to Ezrurum, about 1000 km from Istanbul. Kars is a further 200 km along.

The timetable lists that it takes about 33 hours to cover the distance, however when I took the train to Ezrurum, it took 38 hours.

Derby used to be a centre of railway engineering. This is a high speed train bogie outside the industrial museum.

By the tracks in Georgetown i look and saw what looked like an old derailed axle from a train. Many pieces of it were in a pile just down the hill by the Georgetown trestle.
