Eu e minha Sophia finalmente noivamos.

This was taken on a beach in Las Barilles, Mexico. The full moon was in the sky and someone brought some firewood down to the beach. Before long there was music and beer that lasted into the morning hours.

Explored a bunch of waterfalls over the weekend and found this magic rock that I really liked. It spoke to me like never before and totally changed my life. ok just kidding. Happy Monday everyone! :) #Snowvember

Windy hill is my go-to regular walk but sometimes I feel lazy and just visit the bay. Palo Alto Baylands are a great place to do a bit of bird spotting and to breathe in that salty marsh air. They recently rebuilt the elevated board walk that extends through the marsh to the clear bay water. In the distance, you can see the east side of the bay.

Who ever said Look up and Reach for the sky never had Cats or Dogs.

- an Innocent Owner Of Mad Cats (and a dog now)

View watching where you walk ... no wait, view looking up and reaching for the sky ... No, Wait! Watch where you're walking!

PS

The dog helped and I would like to give him credit. He made the clouds out of my pillow. Yes, that's all that is left.

Wasn't that nice of him.

OK, I admit it; I am a science fiction GEEK!! I grew up watching sputnik, moon landings and space shuttles. I watched Star Trek, Star Wars and the X-Files. I read books by Phillip K. Dick, Ray Bradbury and Arthur C. Clark. To this day if there is a movie about an alien invasion, UFO landing, or giant insects eating Cleveland Ohio, I am getting the popcorn and drinks out because it is going to be good times for Jack!!!

I always thought this would be a great sci-fi title for a novel or short story!!! If I had any talent, I would write it myself!! Lol

I bet you didn't realize that Seattle was so much more advanced than your city, did you? Not only do we have a Space Needle, we have an inter-planetary bus terminal that can take you throughout the solar system. With that government stimulus money, they're talking about adding new routes throughout the galaxy...I hope my bus pass covers that.

Oh, and the buses look way cooler when they're in space.

Check out my alternative titles in the tags. :)

The Infinity Bridge, Stockton on Tees.

I have been wanting to capture this bridge for a while as I have watched it grow from being just an idea. Today I got the opportunity.

Thank you to the lovely Carmen's Year for the suggestion of a gritty B&W process - I thought it reflected the previous industrial reputation of the area.

I tried to catch the meteor shower but failed. First time shooting the stars and this was the only shot I liked.

100% light painting, nothing done in photoshop.

I took this with my friend Josie after we did a photo shoot. Taken out by the mountains in Kananaskis, Alberta. The stars were amazing.

It's better to see something once than to hear about it a thousand times. -- Couldn't have said it better myself..

One of the umbrellas in my outdoor art installation. :)

"Sono riva di un fiume in piena

Senza fine mi copri e scopri

Come fossi un'altalena

Dondolando sui miei fianchi

Bianchi e stanchi, come te - che insegui me.

Scivolando tra i miei passi

Sono sassi dentro te - dentro me

Se non sei tu a muoverli

Come fossi niente

Come fossi acqua dentro acqua

Senza peso, senza fiato, senza affanno

Mi travolge e mi sconvolgi

Poi mi asciughi e scappi via

Tu ritorni poi mi bagni

E mi riasciughi e torni mia

Senza peso e senza fiato

Non son riva senza te"

Grandin LRT Station has the second-longest escalators I've ever seen.

First Place goes to the escalators at Macquarie University Station in Macquarie Park, NSW. Those ones are a looong ride.

I didn't realize it until now, but this is the 52nd installment of my 52-week project. I did it! Woo! Actually I don't feel like I'm done yet. I think I'm just going to keep going for a while...

In case anyone is curious, here's a video someone shot from the lift at Macquarie showing the height of the escalators. www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8vqltm6nqI

Our day at the Flower & Garden Festival this year was a very overcast day. While this gives you flat lighting it often means the backgrounds suck because the sky is an ugly grey. This meant I mostly stuck to my Nikon 70-200 2.8 (a lens I should use more anyway) to create tighter framings and compress the frame on some sort of interesting background. Here’s one of the Buzz Lightyear topiary against Mission Space with the grey sky mostly eliminated. The flat lighting from the overcast sky does look pretty great on Buzz I think. Enjoy.

Toy Story was released by Pixar on November 22, 1995, just over a year after the birth of my son in 1994. It has been his favorite every since he was old enough to watch and we've seen it hundreds of times! This bigger than life version of Buzz Lightyear is located outside one of the buildings at the All-Star Movies resort at Walt Disney World in Florida. He is more than 3 stories tall and amazing in the level of detail. We were there for this particular trip in the summer of 2016 when my son was already 21 years old and one of the best parts of this trip was his excitement in seeing this huge Buzz...his favorite character! "To infinity and beyond..."

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.
