HERE GOES THE MYTH: Orion, a great hunter, was killing all animals on Earth. Gaia (the Earth Goddess, mother of all animals) became furious and set a scorpion on Orion. So, the great hunter was killed by a small scorpion. As a reward to the scorpion, Gaia placed it in the sky as a constellation which appears to be constantly chasing after Orion whose figure was also placed among the stars.

The two were placed on the opposite sides of the sky from each other so that they are never visible at the same time.

And the Scorpion chases Orion, who is always BEYOND its reach and Orion continues to run, for time INFINITE.

The Orion myth has other versions too. Feel free to read them.

This week's hmam theme is spaces. I had a crazy day at work and all my ideas involved shooting away from the office. As I was leaving work to pick up the kids I noticed this funny little back space by our parking lot I'd never really noticed before. It's definitely some kind of space.

2nd Attempt.

While this isnt the obvious space themed photo this weeks theme suggested, given we use lenses so much to look to the stars, i felt it was fitting.

A play on the different meanings of "Infinity"

I love, love, love the Tribute Challenge, it gives me a chance to have a really good look through someone's photostream, add new contacts, and get a bit creative. I always offer to do extras too, because it's my favourite challenge! If you haven't signed up for one, then do, it's such fun.

Anyway, imagine my happiness when I got an extra tribute to do, none other than the fabulous Bond Girly. Choosing a shot was very difficult, given the cornucopia of fab stuff, and I initially thought I'd do a splashing welly shot, but the sub zero temperatures have made standing water a bit tricky to find, so I decided on tributing this lovely picture (below) of Oli in a ball pool. My kids are a bit big for ball pools, but thankfully Buzz stepped in to save the day!

On our way to Cloud Gate in Chicago's Millennium Park, I stumbled across this visual teaser.

The pedestrian walkway crosses over Monroe Street to the Art Institute of Chicago, which attracted a crowd of visitors that day by offering free admission.

I like to imagine that the gentleman in the foreground relayed his progressive aspirations to his companion while pointing to the future: "We shall take to the skies and live amongst the clouds!" (Thanks to my hubby for the quote.)

Ten seconds later, he put his hand down, the crowd disbursed, and normality resumed...

Full Speed Ahead.

Tough Guy Nettle Warrior is the Summer version of Winter Tough Guy and is run at the end of July, less of the cold, more of the pain! The course is essentially the same as Winter Tough Guy but with a number of evil twists.

Lights for St. Paul's Hospital's Lights of Hope are strung up along the building illuminating some of the windows along the way.

George and I took a day trip out to the desert on this lovely New Year's Day Holiday (Observed) to see the sights outside of Phoenix.

Since the explosion of the so called 3rd generation games consoles, Buzz's employment opportunities have been few and far between.

In recent months and especially since the so called global 'Credit Crunch', he has signed on with a temping agency and was up until quite recently sub-contracting to 'Rent-A-Kill Pest Exterminators'.

I bumped into him during our recent problems with mice. He spent all night patrolling our upstairs landing and I for one felt safer because of his presence.

I slept well that night.......Thanks Buzz and may your economic situation get healthier very soon.
