I have a BIG list, all in my head. Proper preparation is essential. I start with a 30 mile bike or run,Get real sweaty and stinky, then some yard work, get dirty. Move into garage, turn on stereo and start to clean/organize it so I have a place to work. By mid afternoon pop a couple NoDoz and and have a plug of Red Man for energy.Continue sorting out garage while the neighbor pokes fun (he’s seen this before,he has a perfectly clean garage and even puts a car in it.ahole!)Now it’s time to get serious. I light a cigar, open a Coors, strap on my tool belt, get some buttcrack going and chase my wife around the house ready to start knocking off the HoneyDo’s. Drives her crazy !
I work really long shifts. So, as soon as I get off work I have to try and do a bunch of things just to be caught up. I think the really inconvenient part is I normally have to try to get these things done before I go to bed. I can't do them on my days off because by the time I get up everyone has closed for the day. Just trying to prep for this deployment one item at a time. And I'm actually ready to get out of here for a while. It's sad in order to get a break I have to fly half way around the world.

Jason Fleming and PC Andy Pickering with a giant copy of the to-do list.
A thief’s actual to-do list is being used by Greater Manchester Police in the latest tactic to raise awareness about burglary.
The list, which was found in the Greater Manchester area following a burglary, details keys to cars which have been left on view, bikes left insecure and accessible to everyone as well as homes where items have been left on view,
The thief also writes the tools needed to carry out each job including hammers, screwdrivers and even a coat hanger.
Yesterday (14/12/11), to raise awareness of the threat of burglary at this time of year, former prolific burglar Jason Fleming accompanied Police Constable Andy Pickering on a patrol around the Failsworth area. Jason identified various circumstances similar to those appearing on the list, and explained how an experienced burglar would take advantage of such situations to commit.
Although not the author of the list, Jason said: "Seeing this list might help people to almost put themselves in the burglar's shoes and think about the things that the burglar would be looking for.
"It's sometimes what people might think are the unimportant details that can make a difference.
"A burglar has to choose which house to go for and an open window or presents visible under the Christmas tree sometimes help him to decide which house is worth breaking into and which one isn't."
Police Constable Andy Pickering for Greater Manchester Police said: “Thieves steal all year round but get particularly busy during the Christmas and New Year period when homes and cars are filled with presents making the items too good to resist for any would-be thief.
“This to-do list gives an insight on how thieves identify their targets and should serve as a reminder to householders on how to protect themselves from falling victim to crime.
“While most thieves are opportunistic there are some who are more organised and will systematically search out the weaknesses in your neighbourhood for the easiest homes, cars, pedal bikes or other valuables on your property to target and steal.
“Being a victim of theft is hard at any time of the year but is particularly so during this special period in the calendar. You can help yourself by putting into action your own ‘to-do’ list to stop thieves going to work in your community.
“Protect your home and valuables from thieves by following the advice given at www.gmp.police.uk/to-do. By following this simple advice you can stop thieves going to work in your community.”
As part of GMPs fight against theft in the run up to Christmas and New Year they will be providing advice through Twitter on #to-do. It shows what residents should have on their own to-do lists to keep thieves at bay.
You can report suspicious activity on our new non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Only dial 999 where there is a threat to life or a crime in progress.

This is my "to-do" list for today. The first line reads "Get Braille paper!" Writing Braille doesn't require only a special tool (the slate and stylus), it also requires special paper. Braille paper is thicker, softer and "stretchy" because it's made from longer fibers than the normal paper. Writing Braille works with any paper, though, and for daily stuff I do use regular paper. However, if I want my writing to be more durable, I use Braille paper. But it's not just durability that is important with Braille paper. It's also the way the bumps are embossed. In regular paper the bumps get little tears at the very top, which makes them kind of coarse. Braille paper "stretches" when the bumps are embossed, so the bumps are neat and not pierced through at the top.

DailyShoot: Weekend Whimsy. Make a photo of something that tickles your funny bone.
I have reached the end of my yearly planner this coming week and came to the pages my daughter filled out one day while waiting for an appointment. She has packed next week with lots of fun: Sunday: Have Fun! Monday: Pick Flowers. Tuesday: Have Pizza. Wednesday: Pick up cousins. Thursday: Wii Party! Friday: Dress Up Saturday: Play with Cars. I put her Little Miss Sunshine toy on the page because this reminds me of her and her plan... enjoy the day!
I picked Ghost In The Shell. Tattooed by the awesome and wonderful Lelia at The Needle's Kiss in Townsville (http://tnkstudio.com.au/townsville-tattoos.html) on 18/5/2010 as an anniversary gift from Rob (because I'd been talking about having it done for 2 years).
Do you make these kinds of lists too? mostly they include quilting projects, though on occasion I also remind myself to change the sheets, empty the dishwasher...
This particular list tells me I had better get busy making quilt backs... looks like i have lots of tops that need a mate! :)
(oh look! I can cross one off - I did make that FFA2 patchwork quilt top!)
When all these tasks have been yanked off the wall (and recycled), I'll be ready for my parents' arrival on Tuesday for Thanksgiving. I have, as you can see, a lot to do.
An entry into the Moo Holiday Contest.

When I went to bed yesterday I realized I have been nothing for two days. No school, no work, no homework, no preparation, no nothing! Just chilling and watching my Tv series with a glass of coke with ice in my hand, lying in sun, experimenting with cooking, reading tangible photo magazines, eating apple pie, making plans and catching inspiration.
