One year of daily flickr pics without missing a day.

I made a bet with myself, or maybe it was a promise, to be creative and post something I was proud of each day for a year. Well, with the help of a few good friends, some unwittingly, I did it.

Now if only I could finish the other items on my to-do list.

Nola's resolution for 2011 was to try to stay organized this year. In an effort to stick to her resolution, she made a "To Do" list for this weekend! Isn't she sweet?

A beautiful purple (favourite colour) journal that I received from my son for Christmas. He does pay attention! 😊 Goodbye 2020! Here's to a better 2021! Happy New Year!

Autumnal equinox (22-23 September) – Winter solstice (21–22 December)

The word autumn comes from the Old French word autompne (automne in modern French), and was later normalized to the original Latin word autumnus. There are rare examples of its use as early as the 12th century, but it became common by the 16th century.

Before the 16th century, harvest was the term usually used to refer to the season. However, as more people gradually moved from working the land to living in towns (especially those who could read and write, the only people whose use of language we now know), the word harvest lost its reference to the time of year and came to refer only to the actual activity of reaping, and fall, as well as autumn, began to replace it as a reference to the season.

The alternative word fall is now mostly a North American English word for the season. It traces its origins to old Germanic languages. The exact derivation is unclear, the Old English fiæll or feallan and the Old Norse fall all being possible candidates. However, these words all have the meaning "to fall from a height" and are clearly derived either from a common root or from each other. The term came to denote the season in the 16th century, a contraction of Middle English expressions like "fall of the leaf" and "fall of the year".

During the 20th century, English immigration to the colonies in North America was at its lowest point, and the new settlers took their language with them. While the term fall gradually became obsolescent in Britain, it became the more common term in North America, where autumn is nonetheless preferred in scientific and often in literary contexts.

At first, when Stormtrooper Bruce learned the guys weren't going to be able to make Movie Night, he was disappointed. But then he realized it was a gift as now he has a chance to take a breather, catch his breath and actually relax for a few days!

After all, the past few months have been hectic to say the least, but from here on out things are going to get cray-cray. Do people even say that any more? If not they should, as STB now has to prepare for Fall, Halloween, the Holidays, not to mention the Bake Off contests along the way.

STB: Whew! Let the fun begin. But first, my grilled cheese sammy, a brewsky, some pie and lots of movies! Oh, and a nap or two, too!

I just dyed my hair. I wanted to do hot pink. I'm currently not working (only on Etsy if that counts), so I don't have to worry about a boss or looking professional. I have a list of 'to do' things before I turn 30. I have always had dark hair- so this was a big deal for me. I want to try other colors soon.

I sit down at night with my whiteboard and markers and write out my schedule for the next day. I try not to have a strict schedule (which is a given when you're laid back like me and you work from home), but this keeps me motivated to do the things that need to be done, and it makes me excited about my day.

Found an old felt poster (from 1967) tucked in a forgotten corner and decided to send it to my daughter just for *kicks*!

Gave it a good soaking in liquid lavender soap, hung it to dry

and threw it on our carpet last night to snap a pic before mailing it!

I am a list maker- always have been. I think it helps bring me mental clarity to the things that are important to me (which is a good thing), but I find myself at times spending more time making the list than doing the actual work. Not so with my upcoming trip to Colorado!

I am right at 30 days out from my trip depart date and have a million things to do- or so it felt. Once I wrote it all down, it really doesn’t seem like that much; it actually seems manageable. While I know I will add a few things on the list here and there, it feels nice to be able to see it all out before me and come up with a plan to get it all done.

14 April - A Doll A Day 2022

Sometimes life gets too hectic, and we have to make choices. What is truly important? What can we let slide until things settle down? This caught my eye on the way out the door. Yes, this is a difficult to clean fixture, but it still reflects my choices: family and school first, friends, bills, must-do errands & chores in the middle, and then myself right before things like finding a way to dust this fixture.

Was soll ich groß Sagen. Diese Linse ist Genial.

If you are in need of some colour, this should give you a heavy dose. This turned out a bit eye-blasting. :)

My To Do list is very long at the moment, and I also have more than one on the go. I decided to create this week's self portrait around the idea of a REALLY long list of things to do because sometimes these things can get out of hand. When I am too focused on getting things done I feel a bit like a "human doing" rather than a "human being".

Tattooed by the awesome and wonderful Lelia at The Needle's Kiss in Townsville (http://tnkstudio.com.au/townsville-tattoos.html) on 18/5/2010 as an anniversary gift from Rob (because I'd been talking about having it done for 2 years).

I found an old "fun to-do list" I wrote years ago, containing all the stuff I enjoy doing. Most of it is still accurate. Mostly it's about reading, writing, photography, art/crafts and doing stuff outdoors.

When your to do list is longer than any paper you own...

Year Twelve Of My 365 Project

I have to make lists or I would forget everything - and I still forget things because I forget to put them on a list!

Hmmm... I guess my internal monologue literally looks like this... Layers upon layers of writing, "to do" lists, good intentions, ideas, and complaining when people dwell on petty gossip or trivial things. I frequently cuss in my journal but when I get bored or excited or inspired by ANY thought... I draw something. These are just a few of THOUSANDS of clippings from my every day journal (morning pages) over the past few years.

Großglockner, the highest mountain in Austria in the Nationalpark "Hohe Tauern"

"The Hohe Tauern is the highest range of the Alps east of the Brenner Pass, and includes the highest mountains in Austria. They are part of the Central Eastern Alps and are located in the Austrian states of Salzburg, Carinthia and East Tyrol, as well as a small part of South Tyrol in Italy." (Wikipedia)

This has been my mindset the last couple weeks, and it is one that I really want to change. I am tired of being tired- and I am certainly tired of having the mindset of “Let me just get through this day…” Or “This will pass, this will pass…” Living to survive is not living.

I know we all go through struggles. I know many have things worse than me, so I always hesitate to complain because someone has always got it worse. Sure I have stresses that most probably don’t know of or understand, but who doesn’t? I’m now invested in making my future come to me and moving on with change.

Okay life… let’s do this thing.
