Axle, Sully & Milo having fun with the tissue paper!

paint, tissue, rubber stamps, oil pastel over wallpaper spray painted at the beach at WAAR 2015

Tissue paper flowers. I loved these every summer at Six Flags. Anyone remember that? They were on a stick!

I'm blogging 31 Crafty Flower Tutorials in 31 Days. www.kindawonderful.typepad.com

You can see the five short strips of wood that I placed between the stars to give them a bit more depth to insert a light.

I glued these in place and also drenched all the connecting points with glue.

Detail layers consist of water soluble markers, white acrylic ink, and bits of colored tissue. Shaded with graphite and charcoal.

This is again tissue paper I colored with acrylic inks. I crushed white tissue paper, sprayed it with water, and then dropped on acrylic ink. After the paper dried, I ironed the paper, and then crushed the paper again and repeated the process. When I was satisfied with the result, I ironed the paper flat. I'm hoping to have an example of this tissue paper I decorated in every month's color in 2014! Besides Scarlet this piece has bits of Timberwolf at the top!

Reading what you say doesn't hurt my sore arm at all! ;D

Have a wild and wonderful weekend!

Tiny scrunched up pieces of tissue paper with hand-drawn detail added. A simple technique that lends itself particularly well to flowers and foliage.

Although the other fish made fun of him, Henry liked wearing his hat.

It's kinda common to see kids alone in a group of unknown there, they know their way back home.

This toilet is the only of the three with the seat up. The inside is covered with tissue paper as well as the outside.

Makes for very light weight jewelry. The triangle idea was from the book. They didn't show earrings. I made those to complete the set.

Free to use for a texture layer. Please leave a link for me see how you used this.

my friend alyssa made me a huge birthday card and gave it to me today, since i don't have class with her tomorrow. of course i had to carry it around school for the rest of the day. i love it to death though.

i had my sister pose for this one (yes, she's wearing wings) and a neighbor kid came up and asked if i was a professional photographer. that made my day. =D

page torn out of a book of expressionist paintings, tissue paper, acrylic, photoshop cs6

For my aunt Betsy's 60th Birthday, we all gathered at her house in Vermont to celebrate. The night before her daughter Dana, Dana's boyfriend and best friend all stayed up and made 60 tissue paper flowers, blew up balloons, and decorated the kitchen with a sign that said "60 and still blooming"

I know we are closer to Christmas now haha!! Bought the boxes earlier this year and found the travel packs only just recently. Thought it would be a nice idea to photograph them.

Lat is our local cartoonist, his cartoons used to be published in the New Straits Times newspaper back in the day. I remember always looking forward to read each day's comic! He has long retired and his works have been published into books and even a cartoon animation too.

She's about 8 inches tall: tissue paper, acrylic paint, lace, bead, metal bob for the necklace, book page, magazine page for the dots on her skirt. WIsh her luck in her mail journey - everything is glued so hopefully she will arrive intact.

I tested some new paper, kind of heavy tissuepaper (about 110g/m²). Behaves like textile.

I like how these turned out. Nikon SB-28 strobe in the bag triggered by a Cybersync wireless trigger. Photo shoot in McKees Rocks with Melissa (MM# 1876720). Super fun shoot and I love the results! Makeup by Stephanie Campbell.

Have you ever wondered how to make tissue flares like the ones seen in these paper bags? Here's a great article about making tissue flares that will teach you how.

We live in an apartment with no fireplace so we made one! We decorated with a gingerbread theme this year so we decorated it with real candy and used big candy canes for our stocking hooks. We also made logs for our fire and used tissue paper for the flames. To make it look like it was glowing we used battery powered tea lights.

Miracle loves tissue paper so I always have plenty of it for her to nap on. She turned 3 in February, seems yesterday she was a newborn kitten.

part of the Retro Photo Friday series

I recently held a giveaway on my blog, and had two Hero Arts clear stamp sets and one Hero Arts wood stamp to prepare for mailing.

Because I am mailing them, I decided to use a tag for a card and tissue paper as the wrapping, to minimize the weight and thus the shipping charges.

Stamping on the tissue paper was a bit trickier than I thought. I ended up liking tone-on-tone results the best. And it was helpful to make sure the tissue paper was flat and taught before stamping ... so an extra pair of hands or good paper weights can help!

I really like how the packages turned out and sure hope the recipients enjoy them!

Thanks for looking!

i head back to work tomorrow for our abbreviated summer school session...from what i can gather, enrollment is typically low, and there aren't many kids that show up on a daily basis. i've been advised it's best to just do some fun stuff. i came up with this idea to do a sort of beach ball based diorama.
