I was in the right position and timing is everything. I love how I was able to capture both of them in the same shot!
This morning sunrise was gorgeous and I can't wait to share more pictures from it. I was more or less interested in the burn of the clouds and how it contrasted well with the bridge.
As I was taking the shots, two big rigs, both going opposite directions came into my frame. At the same time, a pigeon flew by in my frame as well.
Quite the lucky picture!
As David says, "one of my #luckysnapshot of the day."
Just happened to be passing when the wind dropped off.Ten minutes later the reflections had been blown away.

All natural light baby! ;)
Song lyrics have always had a big impact on me, so when I heard Bad Timing by Blue Rodeo this afternoon (still one of my favourite songs of all time) I started to think about how to incorporate the lyrics into a shot. I thought about this shot almost all day - I even went out a bought the 50-1.8 over lunch to take this shot.... I think I'll be able to find some other uses for it as well.

Montreal Art & Tattoo Expo 2013
Took out my Fujifilm X100S for the first time and I'm learning how to use it ...
I also brought my Canon EOS M with 50mm 1.4 lens but I never took it out as the Fujifilm X100S made me learn how to take a photo all over again with a fixed lens...
Timing of my shots were off but it was fun...
I missed a lot of good photo opportunities but at the same time thinking out my shots before taking them so those opportunities will be less missed where my timing will be better as I get to understand how this Camera works...
Photos were shot with JPEG only and straight out of the Camera with no editing...
This was my first Montreal Art & Tattoo Expo Event as it always falls during the Anniversary of my Mother's Death where I always goto Toronto to see My Family and visit her at the Cemetery...
I was able to get the first evening in for a couple of hours before leaving and I'd really like to go again for the next Expo so we will see...
On this evening I've chosen to capture the setting of the Expo and the person getting the Tattoo as well as the Tattoo Artist...
Tattoos are Personal so for me the Tattoo is secondary and is an Accessory in the Photo...
My Vision for My Photos... The Event - The Setting - The Client and the Tattoo Artist...
I just want to Capture the Moment but the Tattoo Artists are the Main Focus...
FYI... I saw the product and I can vouch that the Tattoos being done in these Photos are Spot On... Beautiful Art!
I only have a couple of Photos because unfortunately I was only there a couple of hours and the lighting was not great because the Event started @ 6pm and I was also learning how to use the Camera...
I Love The Fujifilm X100S!!!
:)

Reaching in with a small screwdriver blade here to apply a drop of light oil to the pallet and star wheel of the escapement. These are invisible from just about any angle; but there's an opening in this area of the inner casting, so it might be possible to reach in through that for cleaning if you're deft. The inner casting can be removed without removing the top cover for access to this part of the shutter. To clean the blades, though , a more complete disassembly is required.

Perfect timing for this Red Kite grabbing it's prize.
Gigrin Farm Red Kite feeding & rehabilitation centre in mid Wales.
I got a heads up from a few different people today of a rather incredible consist on the I-DULB, and fortunately, the timing on it worked out quite well for a bit of a chase. It's not everyday that one can catch FerroMex, Illinois Central and Canadian National units on one train together.
After passing through SJ Jct., the DULB crosses over to south side of the Kansas River and onto the ex-Rock Island Golden State Route. Here, the train is seen passing the Water Works near MacVicar Ave.

Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter. ~Ansel Adams
This was taken during my dad and I's "photo walk" last week. (It wasn't really a walk, but a short drive on the four wheeler with him and his dog, Earl, while we searched for butterflies and wildflowers to photograph). Dad and Earl spotted this beautiful one for me and it is a favorite almost as much for the fun memory of the afternoon as it is for the photo!
Update timings from previous table:

The methode to measure the quench-timings is now done more precise via the camera. I've taken pictures from the manual powersettings at 1/8 power via a graycard. The histogram give a nice peak value. I adjusted the camera to have this peak about 128. Now I drive the flash in TTL mode to have the same value on the histogram. This quenchpuls correspond to the manual power level. To measure the other values, I just adjust the camera F value to the higher stop and repeat this measure. In this manner all the values are defined for the different flashes. This methode is very precise.
For the SB-29-S ringflash is have enabled the 2 sides of the flash and set the slider on the flash to the middle position. This ringflash can be set to a very low output level. Even 1/512 power is possible. But the lower values need a very precise value. It's necessary the have a resolution of 1 us in timing steps to set the small 1/3 steps below 1/128 power. My controller have now the Atmega168 and the resolution is 2 us. Into the next day the Atmega328p will be furnish. Then I will change the resolution to 1 us. The Atmega328p have 2Kb sram. The timingrange will then from 1 to 1500 us with this controller.
On the highpower side not all flashes can furnish the max power below 990 us quench-timings. Therefore I have set this value to - - - into the table. With the Atmega328p, this range will be raised but this long delays are not so interesting for highspeed because the blur. Most of the time the power settings must be below 1/8 power.
I found the results of this test very accurate. If I find other flashes I will add also the timings.
Our Daily Challenge 16--21 December : Timing is everything.
It is still mild and there is plenty to see to in the garden but the last day or two have been very changeable. It's a case of nipping out and doing something quickly. Dog walks are more risky, though. We set out in sunshine yesterday and ended up rather damp!
I was tracking the plane closest to us and when I tried to time my finger to get it JUST like this but when I took the picture I never saw the second plane in the viewfinder so I figured I missed it. I never saw it because the shutter was open when it was in frame. CRAZY!

Cruising up highway 63 on the first day of our Christmas trip I happened upon the CN backing its train out to Hayward Jct. after switching the LP mill. I missed the caboose (shoving platform) but was able to nab the power going away. CN 5728, December 23, 2011.
Perfect timing for the We’re Here! gang’s theme of the day: maps! It’s super windy here, and the power went out at 10:10.
For the passengers, it is the lack thereof of great timing...
A 2 hour 10 minute late 303 departs the Springfield, Illinois after passenger detraining and pickup as well as a crew change. Just down the tracks, 303 would have signal issues with the NS dispatcher at Iles making the train 15 minutes more late. However, the train's tardy appearance allowed me to catch it in some form of good light, so I can't really complain.
All car engines have a timing chain, belt or gears. If they get out of time it can cause a bent valve and you are talking major bucks for a valve job, thus the title. My hubby Mike is a hot rodder, always has been and always will be and sometimes I find stuff in the yard that I think makes for a neat photo. In this case the engine was hanging from a hoist and I liked the sun on the rust. Then he told me it was the brand new out of the crate motor I bought for my beloved 1966 Pontiac back in 1984, put 100 miles on it and it blew. It was bad from the factory and Chevrolet refused to warranty it since we put it in a Pontiac and we couldn't afford to rebuild it. I did not even know we still had this, made me sad all over again after all these years. The car was my all time favorite, moved to Texas driving that car with Birdman on the seat beside me all the way from Florida.
