It was 5°F and a few minutes before sunrise. As the fog drifted away, the sky brightened revealing the snowy river and mountains.

I'm not much of an Integrity collector - usually I'm just interested in their quality clothing and articulated bodies, but the faces rarely speak to me. BUT this time I actually went and pre-ordered a doll, and I like her quite a bit.
"Timeless Marbles"
A place I always love to visit are the Devils Marbles. Karlu Karlu as they are known by the local Warumungu Aboriginals, are sure amongst the most famous rocks in Australia, right up there with Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Actually there is a lot more to the Devils Marbles than just the two rocks you see in every picture - but of course this two rocks are very impressive. Every time I'm in the outback again I am so fascinated by the intense colors...and at sunset or sunrise it is even more intense. We had a great time shooting a sunset at Davenport beach this night even though there was too much atmosphere to get the Milky Way.
Pretty Boy & his nemesis. There are Canada Geese in his new home as well as countless turtles & fish. He was rescued from his park in town as the reconstruction of the river banks confused & frightened him. He was walking into traffic & could have been injured. He seems to be adjusting very well & I try to visit him daily while he settles in. I'm worried that this city boy will be hurt by the huge carp which jump out of the water with ease. There is at least one very large snapping turtle here as well. I love this very peaceful sanctuary & look forward to our visits. Recently I learned that a trout farm owner was shooting & killing Great Blue Herons close to this area. I have seen these beautiful Herons here & it is very disturbing to think that they could lose their lives simply by doing what comes naturally to them. I have heard a rifle shot a few days ago. A very foreign sound for me. I have contacted the Ministry of Natural Resources & was assured that this problem will be taken very seriously. They informed me that the fish farmer needs a permit to kill these herons if he wants to protect his fish from them. I am investigating this permit business & wondering why the herons, as migratory birds, are not protected.
Near the city of Nea Redestos, there are the so called "Loutra Thermis". From the 1870's, when the older hamams were being built, the prosperous citizens of Thessaloniki were coming in this place (Madzarda or Macarlik) for their pleasure and relaxing. Until the 1990 people when the baths were closed, many elderly people kept visiting them.
The clouds were amazing this day. High winds were making them drift by real fast.
What I'm trying to show with this series is a progression and unfolding of awareness. It was like a day of photographic meditation. At first I was frustrated because I didn't find what I wanted. But then, once I was able to let go of that, I found something better than I imagined.
I wanted to get there for sunrise, but we were about an hour and a half late, so I was in a bad mood. Then, I wanted a bright blue sky to contrast against the tan colored stone. But the sky was overcast and the clouds were creating diffuse, muted, constantly changing light. Then something changed in me. I started noticing how amazing the sky was in itself and the contrast between the wispy, soft-edged, quickly changing clouds and the solid, hard-edged, unmoving rocks caught my eye. So I focused on that instead.
I noticed how the curve of the clouds matched the shape of the wall here and I thought it might make an "OK" shot. I was surprised when I saw it on the computer. And then, when I started playing with it, it just popped as a B/W and I knew it was a keeper. It felt like something I had seen before, but I don't remember ever seeing anything quite like this...
I have now decided I want this as a large print hanging on my wall. I like clocks. Even though the clocks can show the time, they self seem to be timeless. The days are always going to have 24 hours and the hours are always going to have 60 minutes, that's just the way it is.

Standing atop the tunnel view vista-point, surveying the vast glacially carved canyon stretching in front, admiring the lazy clouds drifting by, gazing at the strands of the Bridalveil falls sway and dance to the tune of the wind, and enjoying the mesmerizing play of shadow and light, is a timeless experience that beholds any visitor who stops by to gather in this jaw-dropping location.
Irrespective of the season and irrespective of the time of the day, this is one view that can take your breath away. I still remember my very first memory of this view: as the car sped out of the tunnel, I just managed to catch a glimpse of the U-shaped canyon surrounded by towering walls of granite and that image stuck in my mind. And that inspired me to take up hiking and photography so that I could get more of the wondrous beauty that this and many other parks had to offer.
And thus, this timeless view created a timeless vision in me.
