Sometimes there are clouds. Then they pass. Yet the mountains remain solid. stable. firm.
Clouds of emotions may pass through the gateways of our lives. Yet what remains is timeless. Memories fade. But not what observes the memories.

I was waiting for cash withdrawal after this lady... really astonished when she turned to me and I realised she was about eighty!
So it seems that the colour images from Paris are back.

Surprise birthday trip to Paris.
The Museé d'Orsay has a fabulous art & sculpture collection and is itself a magnificent building. We lost hours in there.
I've seen many illustrations of this piece, and even though she was behind glass - she was one of the most powerful exhibits for me...
580ex with a shoot through umbrella, at 1/16th power, camera left and aimed down at the scene.
430ex behind scene at 1/64th power, bare (without any diffuser)

This was a shot for the sunday strobist groups "Time" theme. I was looking around the house at the many old clocks that are around to find one that I could open to get a picture of the gears that run the clock... but I couldn't find any and my grandfather went into his safe and handed me a couple old pocket watches. This one was his fathers. So this is my great-grandfathers pocket watch.
I had shot a watch before, www.flickr.com/photos/machschnell18t/2834279071/ so I knew how to control the glare of the flashes from showing up on the watch face. Thanks for any comments you may leave!

一張可以完全表達一個人對照片內容的最深沈的感受的照片才是張絕佳的照片。
A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.

On ancient roads your soul is embroidered,
you walk on the stars of time,
timeless, infinite and unfathomable.
You escape the talent of your time,
you become eternal and present,
with your past, present and future expression.
Whispering to the heart,
Do what you feel, say what you think and never regret.

This isn’t your typical perspective of the Old Town Clock on Citadel Hill in Halifax. The damp, overcast night created the perfect conditions for the clock's lights to radiate a soft, enchanting glow, giving the scene a timeless charm.

Brigitte Bardot was more than a cinematic legend; she was, for me, the ultimate personification of beauty. Her unique blend of natural elegance and effortless charm set a standard that remains unmatched.
While the world honors her as a cultural phenomenon, I remember her as a personal icon whose grace and spirit defined an era of aesthetic perfection. She remains an eternal symbol of beauty in its purest form.

All things are artificial, for nature is the art of God.
