As if I enter the woods in Kafka on the Shore, time doesn't flow any more here. It's timeless everywhere.
Every moment and every event of every man's life on earth plants something in his soul

I realize that a lot of my pictures are very trendy looking, what with the fancy editing and fashion and what have you. Looking at some of the truly classic portraits from some of my favorites like Avedon, I needed to get back to the basics of what makes a good portrait. What inspired me was an old polaroid of my dad at my age, shirt off and cigar in hand in the woods, smiling away. I could practically taste the case of beer just out of frame.
So here we are, at the dried Boise River riverbed a hop, skip, and jump away from my place. I wanted a neutral palette, neutral clothes, and a neutral expression. Because 60 years from now when my grandchildren are looking through these pictures, I want them to be able to relate. And if I could go back in time 60 years, I would want my own grandparents to relate to this picture.

I'm thinking about making a 'timeless' series; the area I recently moved to provides me with a lot of interesting subjects...
For me, this one looks like an old picture from a photo book and I think it's a bit warmer than 'just' B&W...

Sit like an Egyptian...

There's a marvelous temporary exhibition on Ancient Egypt,
called Quest for Immortality - The World of Ancient Egypt in the National Museum of Singapore at the moment.
Manual settings, low light , absolutely no flash :-)
In an old attic, a forgotten box of marbles and gacha capsule toys sat undisturbed for decades. Once cherished by a child who grew up and moved on, they remained as silent witnesses to the past. Now rediscovered, their glossy surfaces reflect distant memories, bridging the gap between nostalgia and the present.
Zoomed in details of the facade of Cinderella Castle at Disney's Magic Kingdom. Gotta love those gargoyles!
Thanks for looking. I appreciate feedback!
Abbiamo voluto provare a scattare alcune foto in b/n alla nuova arrivata....ci sembra perfetta come modella....*_*
The timeless facade of The Monastery which sits high above the World Heritage Listed ancient city of Petra, close to the village of Wadi-Musa in the south of Jordan.
Another archive shot, obviously taken in Venice - the most magical, timeless city in Europe. This was shot on 400ASA B&W film. I don't know who the man on the bridge is, but I can remember that he stood there for ages in that position enabling me to get a perfect shot.
Just finished this Crochet scarf for my beloved sister, hope she like it. Thank you so much, Erin, for this lovely pattern.

Ao contrário do outro Revlon que eu usei e foi bem chatinho de passar, esse cinza foi tranquilo.
Uma cor bem discreta e bonita, gostei dele.

Or, if you will, running out of time! Yards like this, which dotted Appalachian hollers all over the place, are rapidly becoming a thing of the past.
Wilcoe Yard at the north end of the Tug Fork and South Fork branches soldiers on. Moments after this an empty rolled into the yard before heading down to the end of the South Fork branch for nighttime loading.

This is the effervescent and adorable Maria G from the Netherlands (Holland). I met her on the streets of NYC near Rockefeller Plaza. I was struck by her dignified walk and her waving green skirt. She was carrying two store bags. I did a U-turn (in walking) and started conversing with her and shortly thereafter shooting photos of her. She's remarkable. An actress, intelligent, and normally she says she would never let anyone let alone a stranger photograph her. I asked her why she let me and she didn't know. She said I just seemed different maybe, that she could trust me. Those words mean so much, and coming from Maria they are simply timeless. I hope you enjoy this lovely person who is truly a friend!
