We live a small coastal town. This painted mural adorns the side of a building in the historic downtown district. It's a beautiful place to see and we so enjoy living in this NC colonial capital. What struck me after seeing these photos...how utterly timeless Splash looks. He could just as easily been strolling down the boardwalk in this 18th century scene, with the woman carrying her parasol. These little poodles have delighted admirers for eras. How divine!

Ooops! ...another week...another wrong final pick. Probably should have gone with this one

Il y a des personnes qui marquent nos vies, même si cela ne dure qu'un moment.

Et nous ne sommes plus les mêmes.

Le temps n'a pas d'importance mais certains moments en ont pour toujours.

I love the timelessness of this photo.

It could have been taken 50 years ago.

Last holiday shot I promise but I've saved my favourite for last.

Adalaj Stepwell (Gujarati: અડાલજની વાવ) or Rudabai Stepwell is a stepwell located in the village of Adalaj, close to Ahmedabad city and in Gandhinagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It was built in 1499 by Mahmud Begada for his queen Rudabai, wife of Veersinh, the Vaghela chieftain. It is an example of Indo-Islam fusion architecture work.

Having posted a vert shot of this place the other day, I had a search for one of the landscape versions of this place too. I found this one which I shot using a polariser and 3 stop ND grad plus a 0.6 soft grad. That was enough to hold back the exposure and give a dreamy and slightly timeless feel to this awesome place. The last light on those teethy mountains really was something to behold.

I still have loads of shots to share from this location and many more from the trip. Thanks for looking.

I think the nature of the moment in which a father prepares to give his daughter away for marriage has not changed all too much in a long while. It was a touching moment to see then just as it is today. Father and daughter were quite happy in the 60 seconds or so they had together just out of sight of everyone else after the bridesmaids and groomsmen had already departed for the walk down the aisle. These two stood quietly but with bright smiles on both their faces. I was framing a couple of other photos and had just raised my Hasselblad when the father leaned over to place the veil over his daughter's face. It was a timeless, little moment on a pretty momentous day.

I have grown very very fond of profile portraits like this, I seem to be drawn to them. Her beauty is clearly seen and will take your breath away. This is again from my archives from my first shoot with her in the summer of 2012. You can see more of her many moods and expressions in my set "Alexis". Best in lightbox. Thank you all for visiting!

Near the city of Nea Redestos, there are the so called "Loutra Thermis". From the 1870's, when the older hamams were being built, the prosperous citizens of Thessaloniki were coming in this place (Madzarda or Macarlik) for their pleasure and relaxing. Until the 1990 people when the baths were closed, many elderly people kept visiting them.

It was all just a pile of leaves underwater but the cool thing was that I thought it was really beautiful how it all looked like every one of them were frozen in time.
