I wanted to give this image an oil painting effect to provide an antique look that perfectly complements the landscape of the windmills and the castle of Consuegra. In the foreground, you can see the iconic windmills, symbols of La Mancha, while in the background stands the majestic castle of Consuegra, adding a sense of historical fortitude to the scene. This treatment not only highlights the beauty and historical value of the location but also adds a rich and artistic texture, evoking classical painting techniques.

Imagine, as well, the epic battles that might have taken place in this setting. The windmills, with their imposing sails turning in the wind, could have witnessed legendary confrontations, while the castle, with its thick walls and defensive towers, would have served as a stronghold against invaders. This blend of history and fantasy brings an additional dimension to the image, inviting one to dream of knights and wars that might have unfolded in these lands.

This image, which looks like a canvas, will surely be displayed in many homes in the area, as it is a source of pride for the inhabitants of Consuegra and its surroundings. The combination of historical, artistic, and fantastical elements captures the essence of this beloved and admired landscape. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it.

A long exposure in black and white capturing Manhattan from the river, with the Brooklyn Bridge stretching calmly across the frame.

The softened water contrasts with the sharp geometry of the skyline, where light and architecture tell a silent, timeless story of the city that never sleeps.

This composition of the Parthenon is a personal creation where I combined photography and editing to highlight the grandeur of this timeless symbol. I captured the image using HDR techniques to preserve all the details in both light and shadow, enhancing the textures of the stone and the history embedded in each column.

I also added moving clouds to bring a sense of dynamism to the sky, as the original was too flat, and I felt it lacked something to balance the strength of the architectural lines. The black-and-white treatment complements the classical atmosphere I aimed to convey.

I hope you enjoy this interpretation of one of the world's most iconic landmarks

Such a timeless design, in my opinion.

Conditions as good as those received on this morning at Lake Wanaka remind me why this spot remains a timeless classic photographic location. The most photograph tree.

July 31, 2007. Pavlova is Australia's most popular and renowned culinary creation. My husband and I love this dessert. It's quite easy to make. I experimented by adding ground roasted almonds. The filling in the middle is made up of brown sugar, whipped cream and sour cream.

Happy eating! :)

DeHavilland Canada C-7B Caribou (c/n 120)

Iloc Inc.

Ramona (L39 / KRNM)

15 June 1994

While spotting at Carlsbad-McClellan Palomar, I mentioned to my friend that I planned a visit up to Ramona, as a PB4Y Privateer should be based there for the summer. He just mentioned that there was no really good road up there, so got the keys for Cessna 172 Skyhawk, and soon after we were off to Ramona, touching down there after a 13 minute hop from Carlsbad and avoiding a one hour drive over winding roads. The PB4Y was really up there, but the real gem, however, was this Caribou!

Built as 62-4179 for the US Army and delivered in July 1963, this C-7B - the military version of the DHC-4A Caribou - was eventually withdrawn from use in 1983 and stored at MASDC (now AMARC) at Davis-Monthan AFB.

In September 1992 it was sold to the civil market and acquired by Iloc Inc., who flew it up to Ramona. It was captured basking in the sun, still in a very worn US Army camouflage scheme and bearing its MASDC parking code CM009. Registered as N124DG, the aircraft was being readied for Darryl Greenamyer's expedition to recover the B-29 "Kee Bird" in Greenland. The DG in the registration stood for Darryl Greenamyer.

The expedition began in July 1994, and had the goal to restore the B-29 to flying condition, after it force landed on a frozen lake in northwest Greenland in February 1947. The B-29 was indeed found preserved in a surprisingly good condition in the arctic environment, and Greenamyer's team worked timelessly to repair the aircraft back to flying condition. But on take-off for the flight to Thule AFB in 1995, a fire broke out, and the Kee Bird was unfortunately destroyed.

As no longer needed, the Caribou was sold in 1996 to a Georgia-based owner, and ended up parked at Miami-Opa Locka, where it was last reported in 2000 in a derelict condition. The marks were cancelled in 2013, and it is probably safe to assume that the Caribou has been scrapped at Opa Locka in the early 2000s.

Another short 12 minute hop back to Carlsbad concluded a quick but most successful spotting excursion to Ramona airport.

Our sunny warm weather is now, officially history.. Cooling temperatures brought by wind (currently windchill factor of -27oC), blowing snow and the lack of sunshine again just does not make for a beautiful day. I am so glad we have managed to get out of the city for this wonderful afternoon and evening at Elk Island on Saturday. I have a feeling I won't be enjoying the outdoors for a while...

This iconic landmark will always represent the city by the bay - an amazing feat of early 20th century engineering that has become a timeless work of art.

I don't usually split light a woman's face (I believe it's better suited to men) but I think it works here, creating depth and shape in counterpoint to the full light on baby.

This shot was lit by a single strobe at 1/4 power bounced into a partially collapsed umbrella, but could also be done with window light.
