Purple Sloth Steal of the Week
60L July 12th - July 18th
While walking through this beautiful town, this old but charming house called my attention. It felt like time had stopped for it.
I went wandering a ways through the mostly melted woods, before the next big snowfall came calling. I hopped the Neaves Road bridge and headed south, out of sight from the man-made Dalhousie Lake behind me. Here beside the free-flowing Beeler Brook, any stagnant stillwater lies thinly iced over. After a long sunny day, the earth still radiates faint warmth in these shadows, just enough to overcome an otherwise chilling evening. So long as I lie flat, I'm like those shallow rapids – keeping just above freezing. It's such a sensory experience, all touch and timeless noises, nothing not natural. Last summer's grasses have bent over backwards, pushed down by high flowing water a couple weeks back. I feel them dry and lifeless beneath me. They make me feel alive because they aren't.

I'm so happy that she asked me to take pictures of her cosplay. You know what I love the most about my job? To fulfill someone's hearts desire!
She always wanted to have Alice in Wonderland pictures like that and I'm glad that I could realize her dream.

Our last shot of the Ore on the mainline before they entered the yard, we would find out a few days later that this was the final Missabe ore train pulled by a trio of SD40-2’s, thus ending a timeless era of EMD’s pulling Ore up and down the range, to be replaced by todays standard GE products. Finding this out made the chase just a bit more memorable and thankful we were able to come away with a fantastic day and that everything lined up just right for us to come back up to the range.
