The Empire State Building shines in the Manhattan skyline across the East River, New York.

"At night… the streets become rhythmical perspectives of glowing dotted lines... The buildings are shimmering verticality, a gossamer veil, a festive scene-prop hanging there against the black sky to dazzle, entertain, amaze."

-Frank Lloyd Wright

The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is a protected area high in the White Mountains in Inyo County in eastern California. Protected within the Inyo National Forest, the Bristlecone Pine Forest is home to the oldest trees in the world, bristlecone pines. The bristlecone pine trees grow between 9,800 and 11,000 feet above sea level, in xeric alpine conditions. Some of these living trees exceed 4000 years of age and exhibit spectacular growth forms of twisted and beautifully colored wood.

A portrait filled with elegance and gentle confidence.

The warm tones, the soft afternoon light, and the beautifully blurred background create a refined, classic atmosphere. Her expression carries both strength and kindness, making this moment feel genuine and timeless.

A warm contrast to the previous monochrome work — and a reminder of how color can add its own quiet intensity.

Certaines images semblent intemporelles.

Faut avouer que le noir et blanc et le format carré aident bien...

"I saw your eyes

And you made me smile

For a little while

I was falling in love

I saw your eyes

And you touched my mind

Although it took a while

I was falling in love"

Recently we went to SFMOMA, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. If you go out on the balcony in the back you see The Pacific Bell Building, an Art Deco style building, partly covered by another structure that was in the shade. I love Art Deco.

I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, and carefully adjusted the curves.

“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” (Dorothea Lange)

The always lovely Christine Falls in Mt. Rainier Nation Park is one of the most beautiful falls I have ever photographed. For me the detail in the rock that Van Trump Creek has been sculpting for centuries adds another dimension of beauty to this gem. I would love to be able to feel how smooth that granite slab that forms the main pour over point is?
