The evening clouds streaking over Boston harborfront give an ethereal quality to the city. It is a timeless city, and I love the melding of historical and modern that can be found everywhere. The cobblestones and old docking chains on the waterfront contrasted against the modern skyline of downtown Boston highlight this mix. Taken around sunset from Fan Pier in the newly redeveloped Seaport District, after downing a beer (Sam Adams natch) and an awesome "Naked Lobster Roll" from the nearby Barking Crab restaurant.
Photographically, this is a merge of two long exposure shots. Was hoping for more dramatic color in the clouds but this front moved in over downtown just a few minutes too early. One can also see the movements of some other photographers from a group on the pier, as well as some light streaks from boats going by. '35 Ford roadster hot rod without fenders originally photographed at the 2019 Back to the Fifties car show. I didn't like the background so changed it several different ways before finally settling on this composite with an antique watch for the background with several textures as well.

The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is a protected area high in the White Mountains in Inyo County in eastern California. Protected within the Inyo National Forest, the Bristlecone Pine Forest is home to the oldest trees in the world, bristlecone pines. The bristlecone pine trees grow between 9,800 and 11,000 feet above sea level, in xeric alpine conditions. Some of these living trees exceed 4000 years of age and exhibit spectacular growth forms of twisted and beautifully colored wood.

Recently we went to SFMOMA, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. If you go out on the balcony in the back you see The Pacific Bell Building, an Art Deco style building, partly covered by another structure that was in the shade. I love Art Deco.
I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, and carefully adjusted the curves.

The always lovely Christine Falls in Mt. Rainier Nation Park is one of the most beautiful falls I have ever photographed. For me the detail in the rock that Van Trump Creek has been sculpting for centuries adds another dimension of beauty to this gem. I would love to be able to feel how smooth that granite slab that forms the main pour over point is?
