Not totally timeless, but this old black and white holiday snap could have been taken any time over the last 35 years, with the Porsche 964 dating back to 1989 and the Mercedes Benz 190 SL as far back as 1955. Even though the Porsche is from 1989, the basic shape dates right back to the 901 model from 1963.

A forced perspective shot featuring two 1/18th scale models by Norev set on the banks of the Glenelg River at Nelson in Victoria.

People ask me about processing all of the time so I put together a video tutorial of the processing on this image. Contact me by email rossrachel@mac.com if you are interested in purchasing it.

The Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge lights shine with the Empire State Building on a quiet colorful night in NYC. Construction of the Brooklyn Bridge began almost a decade before the light bulb was even invented.

Stainless steel shines in the late summer evening light as a pair of EMD E-units and matched passenger cars faced the western sun.

This could have been 1964 but it was actually 2014.

A pair of Iowa Pacific E8s and its matched consist were arriving in Edgerton on the Wisconsin and Southern with an excursion from Chicago. It was a small window in time where old school met the new world.

I'm glad that I was there.

When in the Shuswap area, I attended an annual outdoor car show. So many treasures with elegant lines from decades ago. This 1930's Lincoln illustrates the discerning level of quality indicative of the time. The highly polished grill is topped with the featured Greyhound the company adopted in 1925. I positioned this featured ornament to be sprinting into the color green. Also the color of money at that time.

No hands, no winder, no case, no way of telling the time. These bits are from a watch, long since broken up for scrap gold or silver. I have lots of bits and pieces like these and love them just the way they are. I especially like the stylish numbers on this dial.

Huge rocks from the overhang are beginning the cycle to be reduced to smaller stones. Located near Tranquility in south western Ohio. My eye caught this lighted area in the woods and it was worth the hike to get to this remote area in Adams County..

A classic view of Cradle Mountain from the shore of Dove Lake in Tasmania.

I took so many photos during my 3 day trip here a few weeks ago and the images that really stand out (and compel me to process) are the ones of Cradle Mountain itself. I'm sure the other photos of the plains, trees, rivers, waterfalls, wombats, pademelons, are all wonderful, but i'm just in awe of this mountain.

It's one of those magical monuments of nature that really makes your heart skip a beat when you catch your first glimpse as you arrive. Or at least that's what it does to me.
