I had the opportunity to help the Publicity Officer of the CalState Long Beach Student Dietetic Association (AKA my gorgeous wife Dana) build the bulletin board that the SDA will use for announcements and such for the 2010-11 school year. I made it a video using timelapse photography and a little bit of fun. The music is by Eon, the song is How Filth's The Moon.
Here is a small collection of timelapse videos that I have captured over the last year or so, I am limited to 90 second clips when uploading to Flickr so may post another video with a few more later.
Apologies for my complete lack of editing skill and heavy compression with regards to the movie production.
The four clips, in order of appearance are shot at; A spot above Dores and Loch Ness for the first and third clips (similar to my last upload), the second clip was Loch Ashie, and the final one is Loch Tarff. And the awesome tune is All my days by Alexi Murdoch.

Thought I'd put my Go-Pro to work and capture a bit of cleanup today.
Might have to do this more often when I'm doing a final build, for documentation purposes.
I've been playing around with timelapse photography and happened upon an this incredible sunset today. Here's a small clip taken from a larger, 24 hour long timelapse. I was blown away by the color! Exposures: Av at f/3.2, ISO 800, frame every 10 seconds. Video made with Quicktime, 30fps, and represents 35 minutes of actual time.
Timelapse of me making some bolognese pasta sauce
Ingredients:
1 Onion, diced
2-3 cloves of garlic, crushed or chopped
700g-1kg of beef mince
500g pasta sauce
400g can of chopped tomatoes
40g tomato paste
Water
Herbs (parsley, rosemary, basil, mixed Italian herbs)
Salt and pepper

My first timelapse. Didn't come out as well as I expected but that fine.

Timelapse of clouds passing over Eridge this morning. 582 frames taken at 5 second intervals and compiled in Quicktime Pro. Shots taken out of our bedroom window - would have taken more but it was bl**dy freezing indoors :)

The news of YSR's disappearance came on 2nd September morning, then the search operation started. Around 12-1PM on 3rd September, news of his death came out. His wikipedia page crossed 500 edits (including anonymous). I made a time lapse video of all the edits in that timeframe (Using autohotkey + screengrab + imagemagick + ffmpeg + python).

It was really interesting to see how people reacted when the camera was set up, they were all really interested and intrigued about how the photo was developing. I like how you can see them in the background doing their thing but at the same time how the Polaroid is in the foreground and is the main focus. Next time I will close the curtain behind the camera though so that you can see the film developing completely. Again I feel that the video is too fast?

Timelapse of the sky. I used 83 photos taken with my Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM at f/2.8 with ISO 12800 for 13 seconds each. Edited in Lightroom and LRTimelapse
First Timelapse ever. Shot with a Nikon D800E + Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8.
Tethered to PC and used Digicam Control to shoot the images. 750 images @ 25FPS.

This is my second effort at timelapse using the GoPro Hero. This time, we shot at night, again using the GoPro suction cup on the inside of the windshield.

Although I was happy with the overall pace of the footage, one problem is clear. No matter how many times we cleaned it, there was a harsh glare coming from the outside lights through the windshield. You can actually see all of the pings and imperfections in the glass which are not noticeable during the day.
Another issue is due to shooting in Houston and that's the humidity. When it's hot and muggy outside, your front windshield will tend to fog even if your running the defroster making shooting from the inside highly problematic.
Even though the GoPro Suction Cup is awesome and has never failed, I'm a bit nervious at the aspect of putting my GoPro Hero on the outside of the car. So I'm going to have to find an additional way to secure it beyond the suction cup.

I like the people that sit on the fountain and the lights in the building :) The frame moves a bit because I forgot my remote, so had to hold it down for about 200 photos :(

Canon 40D with EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Here's my first test movie... it's built from images shot at 10-second intervals from the roof of my house, looking north up Church St. in San Francisco.
Looking to the southwest from the Tower from 7 am to 7 pm on the 5th March, 722 photos. Some showers come over during the day and in the late afternoon a large band of smoke from the Gippsland fires drifts over in the lower right.
TimeLapse from Oct 6th 2018, the moon was finally out of the sky all night as the new moon approached which allows me to get a fairly glare free view most of the night. This is approximately 9.25 hours or so of time from dusk to dawn reduced to 37 seconds. I captured a frame every 60 seconds and animated it at 15 fps. This time lapse shows off the dark sky where I am (a green zone) so you can clearly see the galaxy core, Mars, some globs/clusters, and ends with the Pleiades and Orion complex.
Equipment is an ASI224MC witha 2.1mm wide angle lens in a weather proof box (DIY).
