Second try at a night sky timelapse. I still don't have a tripod so the camera was balanced on the ground. Best viewed in full screen you can see several satellites pass through the field of view.

A short timelapse that I made while on my Thanksgiving visit to Grand Canyon National Park. I made these timelapses at "The Abyss," "Hermits Rest," and "Desert View."
To make these timelapses, I took about 15 minutes sessions with my Canon 40D to take a pic every 5 seconds.
This is a single shot from a time lapse I was putting together. And when I say time lapse, I mean OOOOLD school. See, I don't really have a clue what I'm doing, so I was just standing there, on super sore feet, in the freezing cold, taking a shot every time I counted to ten. I was about 300 shots into it when I got called away urgently (rudely!, hmph) on family business. I must confess, I threw a hissy fit. But I did pack up my gear and go attend to family needs. So my once in a lifetime time lapse experience comes up short of catching the sun setting all the way. Sigh. Oh well. It was not completely in vain.

This is my first attempt at time lapse photography and really like it!

Not entirely sure why there is some occasional movement as the camera was on a tripod.

Another timelapse of a flower in bloom. 160 shots this one, at 1-minute intervals. And this time, I set the camera at Aperture Priority mode with auto ISO. This means that the camera will remain at fixed aperture (f6.0) and changes the ISO and shutter speed. Which is why the exposure here is more or less constant. Shot in 4:3 ratio, with video at 1080p FHD resolution.
RAW-wise, it came out just a tad bit overexposed, and colour was oversaturated. Using Luminar 4, I post processed the brightest, most oversaturated photo, reducing exposure, played with highlights and contrast, and reduced the saturation. I then copied the adjustments to the other 159 photos. Converted from RAW to JPEG then went to PowerDirector 12 to import all the files, plus added a 1080p black image I have in my Video Resource Folder for the fade in and fade out.
First photo of this set was taken at 6:04am. Last photo taken at 8:43am, for more than two hours of timelapse photography, reduced to a 12-second video.
Still room for improvement. I think I will do a reshoot with a 30-second interval instead of 1 minute. This should make the timelapse smoother for the same amount of time.
Camera is a Lumix GX85 with Olympus 12-50mm telefoto with macro, powered by a 10000mah powerbank which is why I can do timelapse for more than two hours with some battery juice to spare.

my small project which is being named "warsawlife".
this short timelapse film is showing one day from the life the capital city of Poland, Warsaw. Making it from beginning to end took 4 days. He consists of 1500 photos which were carried out with amateur camera nikon D40.
Lenses which I used it AF Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4( only manual focus) and AF-S nikkor 18-55 mm F/3.5 - 5.6
This project is first in my life so I please for understanding :)

po około 20 godzinach męczącego montażu i całego dnia robienia zdjęć ukazuje się mój mały projekt o nazwie "warsawlife"
Ten niedługi film poklatkowy pokazuje jeden dzień z życia Warszawy. Wykonanie go od początku do końca zajęło 4 dni.
Składa się on z 1500 zdjęć które zostały wykonane amatorską lustrzanką Nikonem D40
obiektywy których użyłem to AF Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4(tylko manual focus) i AF-S nikkor 18-55 mm F/3.5 - 5.6
Jako że jest to mój pierwszy projekt tego typu i pierwszy film jaki montowałem to proszę o wyrozumiałość :)

A timelapse shot today at the side of the causeway which connects the Isles of Benbecula and Grimsay in Scotlands outer hebrides.
This one not only shows the fast moving clouds overhead, but also the tide as it goes out over the 2 hours this timelapse was shot over.
1 metre DIY Carbon Fibre/Aluminium composite, controlled by a DigiSlider Shoot-Move-Shoot controller, Slow motor 2RPM, weighs in at just over 3 kilos with controller, 8 Lithium AA batteries and small ballhead.
Fitted with 3 Arca Swiss QR plates to allow for a tripod/stand at each end or just one in centre.
The motor as enough torque to drive the slider plus ballhead and 5D2 17-40mm L vertically.
I just need to get out and start shooting now.......
With motor detached it can also be used as a hand cranked video slider/dolly.
Taken yesterday from the Tower looking along the VIC/NSW border with Mt Wakefield in the middle, Mt Coopracambra on the left and Nungatta Peak on the right. Taken with my old D5100 and 35mm lens, 967 photos taken over a 8 hour period compressed into a 49 second timelapse video. Some showers come across late in the day.

When I went up to Red Rock Canyon last week, I set my camera up so that it would take photos every 30 seconds. It ended up being about 400 photos between 1am and 5am. Using Windows Media Player, I put all the pictures together in a short (2 min) timelapse video. Towards the end (around 1min40sec), there were a lot of shooting stars and the Milky Way really came alive.

I had the opportunity to help the Publicity Officer of the CalState Long Beach Student Dietetic Association (AKA my gorgeous wife Dana) build the bulletin board that the SDA will use for announcements and such for the 2010-11 school year. I made it a video using timelapse photography and a little bit of fun. The music is by Eon, the song is How Filth's The Moon.
A series of 29 second exposures. Nikon D300 with a Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 lens @ 10mm @ f/3.5, ISO 2000. The moon rises behind this view and illuminates the landscape.

The four clips, in order of appearance are shot at; A spot above Dores and Loch Ness for the first and third clips (similar to my last upload), the second clip was Loch Ashie, and the final one is Loch Tarff. And the awesome tune is All my days by Alexi Murdoch.
