Timelapse video of the Station Fire burning in the Acton area as seen from the west Antelope Valley. 1 frame was taken every 90 seconds for several hours to make this 32 second video. The winds picked up shortly after the sequence began, so there is not much to see unfortunately.

Aurora Timelapse -Derbyshire 10/05/2024

Initially just green Aurora (oxygen lower energy excitation) Barely visible to the naked eye but something was clearly there and becoming more visible... but then flairs up starting about 24 seconds into the time lapse.

Never expected to see such a display this far south with strong pink/red aurora (higher altitude highly excited oxygen) and some purples on some shots from nitrogen electron excitation... Much of these colours were pretty naked eye visible especially with the higher energies later on.

I am not sure Steve made an appearance on my shots but thought that would have been pretty cool as one of my selfies could have been Steve under Steve

We were told to focus on human behaviour. Subjects didn't move too much and are a relatively static shot, and I think time-lapses are more visually interesting with a lot of movement.

The phone moves slightly due to the wind factor.

Our boys planted this cactus in a pot 10 years ago. Last night it flowered for the first time.

Amazing that such a harsh, no nonsense plant can produce something so delicate and fragrant.

One shot per day, and you can see how fast these crocuses grow.
