Merry Christmas to everyone on Flickr from Walker Dukes. Excerpts from the documentary, "Crazy Christmas Lights" and part of my display
Video by Walker Dukes.
This is Bo his first day home.... My mom had the camera, and Bo was barking at it LOL I wish I could keep him a puppy forever! = /
Merry Christmas (and other seasonal good wishes)!!
From a couple of years back, but who's to know...B-) Soundtrack is LOTR movie we were watching at the time. On the website version, it's set to loop continuously, but apparently Flickr can't do that...
I heard this male pheasant squawking out front, and went to investigate. It was about ten feet up in a tree.
Pheasants are known for trying to hide in silence, and then suddenly disturbing passers-by who get too close with a lot of wing flapping and noise as they take off.
On a side note, I'm impressed with the colour and picture quality (despite the high zoom) from this Canon Powershot, which does 640x480 video.

Lonely
My parents' rather awesome "just showed up one day" tuxedo cat, while not one to chase string etc., could not resist chasing light reflected off of mirrors and shiny things according to my sister. This little test confirmed it.
Arriving to a winter wonderland scene and roughly -20C temperatures in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, December 19th, 2008.
A large tree like this one dies one little painful bit at a time. Here are two searing scenes in the deathkill. Walker Dukes

Because my purchase was over 10 bucks, the kind lady at the counter gave me a free stuffed bear!
I couldn't show it in this Holiday Cinematic Extravaganza because, for some reason, Bwca was scared out of his hide by it! Heh.
The view down whilst traversing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on the Llangollen Canal (north Wales).
Here you can see both the canal basin and the ground below. This is a 38 metre drop straight down at the point where the Aqueduct crosses the River Dee.
Video clip of an unbelievable method of crossing a river in Bolivia.
During our PHH trip in May of 2006 we learned that there is no river that can not be crossed, and we crossed them in every imaginable way!
On the evening of the day my Dad died, we drove to where Hove meets Brighton to walk by the sea. As usual in the winter months, the starlings were murmurating over the West Pier at dusk.

I'm calling to urge you to support Canada's new Coalition. Stephen Harper has lost the confidence of Parliament. Instead of economic stimulus, he delivered cuts to public services, rolled back workers and women's rights, and tried to silence opposition. The Liberals and New Democrats with the support of the Bloc Quebecois have formed a coalition. Our priority is an effective stimulus package to kickstart the economy. The people of Toronto will rally in support of the Coalition, this Saturday, December 6th at noon, City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square, bring your friends and family, see you Saturday.

I figured out how to program "mohair" onto mathematical visualization animations today. It's very tempting to overdo this, and it'll take a lot of experimentation to get it under control.
The general chaos of my desk finally got to me this afternoon, so I decided to tidy up. As you can see, I'm easily distracted, but I get there in the end...
Kim and I Rock & Roll on the day after Thanksgiving, Cargo Bike Ride from UW to Seward Park. I'm Rock'in Barney Big Dummy, and she's Roll'in the Naked Xtracycle. Barney is loaded with Turkey samiches, beer, snacks, locks, patch kit, jackets, etc... The naked Xtracycle is simply naked. The ride home up Orcas Ave, post beer was brutal. But spirits were high even if the temperature was not.

November 2004 entstanden.
Kamera: Canon 10D mit 16mm Zenitar Weitwinkel, 30 Sec, Blende 2,8 - ISO 800.
