Watching Barack Obama at 11/04/2008 10:08PM MST when he stood in front of thousands of people winning the election that will make history books.
YouTube with sound.
I happened to be going for coffee and saw this out the Hilton hallway window while waiting for the elevator. Many people were running the race in costume.

My wife's T-Mobile G1 (a.k.a. "The Google Phone," HTC Dream) came in today and here it is "in action." She's at work and she has her SIM card with her, so it's not actually on. (Excuse the construction noise from the next building over.)
I shot this video last week at work. it turned out alright. the iris was a little hot on the second moon time lapse. But all in all it was a beautiful night.
Having failed repeatedly making nice timelapse stuff with my webcam, I gave my trusty ol' 350D a go. And with much better results, IMHO.
Sorry about the slight focus problems - It's rather difficult to get right when you can't see though the viewfinder. (Note to self: get camera with live-view...)
Wir, seine besten Freunde, mussten halb-Karaoke singen. Die lustigsten Vids hier.

The Sam the Record Man sign was fixed up and re-lit especially for Nuit Blanche - not an official event but a unique (and likely ultimate) opportunity nonetheless

Performance Art, Multimedia Installation
Stereoscope is an interactive light installation at Toronto City Hall. This installation by the German group Project Blinkenlights transforms the landmark towers into a huge display screen by arranging lamps behind each of the 960 windows of the building. From dusk till dawn, the façade will serve as an ever-changing and evolving kaleidoscope of graphic animations automatically generated and interactively orchestrated. The public can influence "Stereoscope" through a variety of interfaces including smartphones, the web and physical controllers located at Nathan Phillips Square. Everybody is invited to participate and get more information at www.blinkenlights.net
In 2001, Project Blinkenlights became famous in Berlin as the first large-scale interactive media that could be controlled by a simple mobile phone. The project that later became known as "Blinkenlights" spawned a follow-up installation of even greater dimensions and scope at the Blibiothèque Nationale de France in Paris, France. Project Blinkenlights develops all technology on its own. The computer software used to run this project is published under an open-source license.

Brendan Fernandes - Toronto, Canada
Multimedia Installation
Pulsing with a dramatic lighting score indicating S-O-S in morse code, Brendan Fernandes’ towering installation of shipping containers addresses the trauma of migration, displacement and change. Fernandes’ sculptural installation evokes Moshe Safdie’s utopic Habitat housing scheme, produced for the 1967 Montreal Exposition, and designed to include all people regardless of class, race or gender. Fernandes’ monumental structure, however, reflects on the failure of this ideology and the susceptibility of these social projects to capitalist forces. The work has a local relevance, reflecting on the politics of gentrification and the displacements inherent to the project of urban renewal.

This time lapse video was done like this:
Ricoh Capilo R5 on a Tripod, 1 image taken automatically every 10 seconds.
This video was done out of 1300 individual still shots, played back @ 16 frames per second.
So the time frame you acutally see during the 81 seconds playback equals 3.5 hours of real time
Images were then put into VirtualDubMod and the video was encoded with DIVX Codec
I was going to edit this video so that it could loop seamlessly, but doing so gave me a headache. In fact, even watching it gives me a headache, so you might not want to play it at all.
Built in 1903, Sir Hirim Maxim's Captive Flying Machines are the Pleasure Beach's oldest surviving ride. There's a nice review at and a bit of history www.s104638357.websitehome.co.uk/html/flyingmachines_main... - though you'll be glad to head that the ride is no longer sponsored by Ryanair.
zoomed in to the birds zooming in & out of the chimney at dusk. Pretty hypnotizing. They're the most visible in this video; the others show more sky and buildings.
