Silcox of Pembroke Dock ceased operations in June 2016, after having traded for 134 years.

The company built up a fleet of nearly 30 former MoD Plaxton Derwent II-bodied Leyland Tigers between 1997 and 1999. These were relatively low mileage and were new as left-hand drive, but converted to right-hand drive by Silcox. A small number survived right to the end, though not all were runners.

This May 2008 shot depicts two parked in a lay-by on the A478 south of Crymych, resting between the school peaks. This was in the days before the company decided that allover 'safe' yellow was a necessity for school contract vehicles.

Whilst E144 ODE retains her original rear emergency door layout, the other Tiger had been rebuilt by Silcox with an offside emergency exit, thus allowing for a rear bench seat and slightly higher seating capacity.

This build started with the DDR machine in the left corner. It was part of a 3-in-one I created for an event my local LUG did at the Strong Museum of Play. I had aimed to create additional arcade themed machines to add to it for a while now. The actual arcade was based off of memories of the local mall arcade from my childhood. The skee ball machine was my favorite to do work on and probably had the most revisions to complete.

The Bane Tumbler is one of my favorite movie vehicles of all time. Such a menacing look, combined with a desert-camo color scheme. Now, on to the specs and reasoning behind this model.

For awhile now, I have building in a small scale (based on the 1/42 scale ron_dayes came up with). I have built quite a few real cars, but I wanted to make something new. I have always wanted a tumbler, but never built one because I didn't know how to without copying someone else's design. This is what I finally built! I think I will continue to try building new things in this scale (along the lines of transportation, buildings are for another time). Thanks for looking!

Another year has passed. A new year about to begin. It's time to reflect on where we've been and where we are going.

Wishing everyone a Safe and Happy New Year. May it be prosperous, and full of love, laughter, and excitement - and even a few Explore shots thrown in from time to time.

Debrief time!

Brickvention 2018 was a success and my position as a guest speaker was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I had no idea just how many people were excited to meet me, and interested in what I have to share. If I was told a few years ago I'd be flown down to the other end of the country to guest-speak about my hobby in front of a 300+ strong crowd and spend the weekend in a hall full of lest I say fans I'd think you were making fun of me. It's wonderful that people want me to keep this brands history alive.

Met some awesome facebook friends from all over the country that have only been names on a screen til now, and I can't wait to catch up again in the future!

One highlight was being called up to the admin team over the PA, worrying I'd forgotten something, and racing over only to find Claus Kristensen, the General Manager of LEGO Australia waiting to meet me, and us swapping details so he could see the recording of my speech he was interested in. That's something I'll never forget.

I got to meet with Eliska and Larry Jezek, parents of Daniel Jezek, Bricklink's founder, and chat with them for a while about what possibilities such a site has been able to provide.

I also spent some time with the effervescent Mariann Asanuma which was an awesome experience in itself!

Signing autographs and having photos taken was not something I was expecting, but it's obvious I'm doing something right. I was humbled by a family down there with a son on the spectrum who struggles to leave his home due to severe anxiety and sensory overload. He braved the 10,000 odd attendants and all the light and sound specifically to come see me, and the parents noted that it too his behavioural specialist longer to connect with this kid. I am grateful for the position I'm in and wouldn't change a thing.

In September and October I'm going global, with a trip to Denmark, where I've been allowed on a tour of the LEGO Factory, Idea House, archives and vault, with a good 30 other Aussies, so I'll see where that takes me =)

Sunset down on Lake Windermere in between showers. A lovely place and one day I hope to be graced with an amazing sunset here. Only time will tell!

Last in the fruit tea series, a top down view this time shot with a shallow Dof.

This might appear as something unreal at first, but believe me... it's real. It's a dutch hotel situated in Zaandam - The Netherlands.

It's a mix of traditional architecture and modern day sky-skrapers.

Gave the picture a bit of a vintage ink look, hope it serves the building right :)

The first thing after having the vinyls affixed was to go out for a spin and get some photos away from the yard. However, as time was knocking on and with the sun typically being in the wrong place for our chosen spot, a layby on Kirkby industrial estate had to suffice.

30 Days of Gratitude- Day 3

Today I am grateful for being able to have some time out and just sit quietly by myself and unwind. Life's just way to busy lately.

This is a photo I did at the beginning of the year. I didnt have any bird photos that suited the image at the time so I used Shadowhouse creations bird brush set . I sat down tonight to replace the brushed birds in the photos with my own bird photos only to discover that I lost the original file when my computer malfunctioned and only have a flattened jpeg file, so I can't replace the birds after all. Bummer. Serves me right for not backing up regularly

I gained permission - (thanks - whoever you are ?) - from the passenger when he awoke at his station stop. I couldn't give an accurate location on the map as I myself had only just woken up and didn't know where I was !!!

Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over. (Octavia Butler)
