What would it have been like if instead of Sonic Screw Driver, the Doctor had a Light saber instead.
This little chap made Explore earlier in the year HERE
Back in May he was happily fixing his traction engine with a huge spanner! Yesterday he was busily munching on his biscuit. Such a great sight to see as obviously his parents are the live and let live type. Not the type to run after their little darlings with anti bac and wet wipes....
Astle Park Steam Rally, Chelford.
This is the helical staircase at the Mackinstosh Centre in Glasgow. I took this on Wednesday so it was really sad to hear about the tragic fire in the nearby School of Art last night. The buildings here are very close together and the alleyways very narrow, so it must have been nearly impossble to control the fire.
This is the first time I've managed to get a shot of a bumblebee. I was scared as hell, but I heard that they're usually pretty docile!
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells. - Pink Floyd "Time"
Created for ODC - ravages of time. It isn't exactly what I had in mind. I just don't have the skills to create what I have in mind. It will give me some inspiration to keep stretching and learning about photoshop.
Tonight I am grateful for the time I have with the ones I love.
The seven time Isle of Man TT winner on a lovely wee B.S.A. Bantam. He cleaned this section (10) when the ex-world champion Yrjo Vesterinen didn't; not bad for a man who turns 82 in July.
Feeding time at a violet green swallow nest in the uplifted Monterey shale on the Bob Jones Trail. Avila Beach, CA
Two old women sitting in front of their house in Luba village. The wall adorned with buffaloe horns from bygone sacrifices. Time passes slowly.
I photographed this clock face some time ago and have used it in other designs...well, the overall design potential just keeps on ticking in my head....like creativity itself.
“It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much. ... The life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully.” Séneca

"C'mon sisters, let's move out! daylights burning!" called Tanya to her two enhanced sisters. "Once inside the underground lab Annabelle and I will go left, Tami, I want you to go right"
"no problem Tan, we will recover those stolen files" replied Tami.

This train was speeding at 60mph but we braved it out and got as close as we could - impressive eh??
Is there possibly a new time lord traveling through the centuries?

Time is that quality of nature which keeps events from happening all at once. Lately it doesn't seem to be working.

Just as it appeared on the last day this house was occupied. A true time capsule abandoned for approximately 13 years. The second row from the bottom on mugs all have the logo "Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario". The refrigerator is very close to falling through the floor into the basement.
As an introvert in an outside sales job, I use the time between customers to re-energize. As soon as I enter the car, I connect my personal phone to the audio system and restart the current podcast. As I drive, I do not text and I rarely take calls. I lose myself in the audio program until I arrive at the next salon and must engage again with the outside world.

Encaustic collage on Birch panel.
Part of a recent exhibition where artists were required to respond to an image sent to them.
The image I received was a sculpture by fellow artist John Hall called Brother Sun Sister Moon.
It inspired this response from me involving a local landmark - The Copt Hill - ancient trees known locally as the Seven Sisters, growing over an mesolithic site. The moon, its cycles, the tides skies... kinda evolved. You get the idea.
It measures 60 x 60cms
The trees and the limpets are embedded photographic images, the keys are real, and the barnacles. clouds and surface are pigmented beeswax.
It's a beautiful material to work with.
You can see more here
Just open the Encaustic page.
As opposed to "Snack Time"...
A variant of my Grizzly and Salmon design, folded from an uncut 35cm square of Nicolas Terry's "Deluxe Washi".
The driver of Stagecoach in South Wales Alexander PS-bodied Volvo B10M 20389 has a quick scan of his newspaper as he waits time in Oxford Road, Hay-on-Wye when operating Services 39B/39 (Brecon-Talgarth-Hay-on-Wye-Hereford) for Merthyr Tydfil depot's Brecon outstation in April 2013.
Were the ladies on the seat waiting for the bus, but were too engrossed in conversation to notice its arrival, I wonder ?
Sadly 20389 wasn't looking at her best, but she continued in service until January 2015 before sale to Ensignbus and is now with Richardsons of Midhurst, West Sussex.
Wonderful Machines.
