This little Robin couldn't wait for the fresh water in the birdbath this morning. As soon as I poured it in, it was bath time.
"I'll be about my business for a couple of hours, sweetie. That dunce cap had better still be on your head when I open this door again....or we'll just have to start over." 😵
Nap time after some playing with his favourite ball. Cooper just loves this ball. Can withstand cold, rain, sleet, it's practically indestructible. When he feels neglected and wants to play, he will bring it to me, drop it and wag his tail.
Well, not really time for a few blueberries but I will have a few scattered over my breakfast, tomorrow morning!

Tomorrow my daughter Mara moves to Massachusetts. I will miss not having her close.
I wish I could return to the time when the four of us all lived under the same roof.
It's time to sweep out the old and raise a toast for the new.
May the new year be full of peace, health, joy and happiness for you all!!

Happy New Year or - as we say in Sweden - Gott Nytt År!!!
It is time to enter the photo/art contest! Deadline is May 5. The theme of this year’s PUDDLE is The Clock Strikes Twelve / steampunk. Your entry does not have to reflect “steampunk” specifically. If your entry shows a clock, a gear, the number 12, or 12 of anything, or if features the colors red, brown, and/or gold/yellow, it will be in theme. Details here:
Late March, Colorado.
I was already using my camera with a macro lens. I looked up first to see two bucks suddenly appear at a ridge. They had recently shed their antlers and looked quite different from just a few days prior. They quickly moved down a path and I had no time to change my lens. So I just shot this photo of one of the two bucks with my macro lens!
Mule deer are found in North America, mostly west of the Missouri River and especially in the Rocky Mountain region. They are called mule deer because of the size and shape of their big ears. They have black-tipped tails and the bucks' antlers are bifurcated (vs. coming off one trunk as with white-tailed deer).
They are fascinating to watch run because they do so with all four feet coming down and rising up together, in pogo-stick fashion. Even the fawns run in this way. This form of running is also called stotting and pronking. This style allows them to move quickly and rise high over browse plants and shrubs. Impressive!
So finally I'm getting to my contest! Here's a unique idea ;) This contest is gonna be re-create a custom contest! You grab one of your old customs and re-create it! Here are the rules!
1. The recreated custom has to be at least 6 months to a year old (so I know that you can improve on it)
2. This contest will last a month! (extensions will be given)
3. For any customizers that are new you can try to make a new version of your oldest custom!
4. Purist figures aren't allowed (sorry guys!)
5. Maximum number of entries is 3! But
remember quality over quantity.
6. Must take a before and after picture!
______________Prizes______________
1st: A shoutout and two commissioned figures.
2nd: A shoutout and a comissioned figure.
3rd: A shoutout and a revised version of my shy guy custom.

For first and second place just wanted to let you guys know I'm low on both flesh heads and hands, but will scrap old customs to make yours! Good luck everyone and try your hardest!
Autumn is outside the window in this shot from housing at the Moffat Tunnel. I included the colors outside the window for this shot. When it gets difficult to put in a decent day's work, it's time to reboot. Maybe the mountain pack rats got to his boots while he was sleeping. Have you seen the size of the pack rats up here at the divide? A military retinue posted atop Pikes Peak in the past noted the size of the rats that carried pieces of concrete away! Sheesh! I've been walkin' on the railroad; Just to pass the time away. All while waiting for the horn to blow. I love the autumn colors of the grasses and shrubs outside. Winter's on the way, it's time to reglaze!
This is in a company house near the Moffat Tunnel. eDDie and I rifled through some of the old D&RGW housing. I stuck my found boot in several windows. The view from the missing window shouts the season. The work force that operated the station - agents, telegraphers, electricians, curtain operators and other maintenance workers for the East Portal of the Moffat Tunnel had short walks to work and that hardly accounts for the wear on this boot. Maybe they walked all the way to the "Crossroads" and back. This housing is as tenuous as this boot. Boy, I bet these houses were dandy spots to sleep when the D&RGW Mallets were pounding their way up grade! Have you seen the size of the low pressure cylinders on the fronts of those Mallets? This shows the color on our second trip up to the Moffat.

.......................

I used a ten and six stop ND filter stacked together to do this long time exposure of the lifting clouds above Canmore Alberta. I did a bit of dodging and burning to bring out more of the contrast.
