Model is the Fantastic Dominique! Shot taken at Abandoned Train Lines Netherfield Nottingham! Strobist Info: Lencarta Safari Lion 2 On Camera Axis through a Pixapro 60cm folding Beauty dish!
"I'll be about my business for a couple of hours, sweetie. That dunce cap had better still be on your head when I open this door again....or we'll just have to start over." 😵
Autumn is outside the window in this shot from housing at the Moffat Tunnel. I included the colors outside the window for this shot. When it gets difficult to put in a decent day's work, it's time to reboot. Maybe the mountain pack rats got to his boots while he was sleeping. Have you seen the size of the pack rats up here at the divide? A military retinue posted atop Pikes Peak in the past noted the size of the rats that carried pieces of concrete away! Sheesh! I've been walkin' on the railroad; Just to pass the time away. All while waiting for the horn to blow. I love the autumn colors of the grasses and shrubs outside. Winter's on the way, it's time to reglaze!
This is in a company house near the Moffat Tunnel. eDDie and I rifled through some of the old D&RGW housing. I stuck my found boot in several windows. The view from the missing window shouts the season. The work force that operated the station - agents, telegraphers, electricians, curtain operators and other maintenance workers for the East Portal of the Moffat Tunnel had short walks to work and that hardly accounts for the wear on this boot. Maybe they walked all the way to the "Crossroads" and back. This housing is as tenuous as this boot. Boy, I bet these houses were dandy spots to sleep when the D&RGW Mallets were pounding their way up grade! Have you seen the size of the low pressure cylinders on the fronts of those Mallets? This shows the color on our second trip up to the Moffat.
The Grade II* Listed Ellis Windmill on Mill Road in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
At one time nine windmills stood along the west face of Mill Road over the steep slopes of the Lincoln Edge, these days only Ellis Windmill which was built in 1798 remains. There are documentary references to mills along the road from the early 16th century.
Tower mill of 3 floors with 4 sails, ogee domed wooden cap and fantail. Construction of brick painted black. Door on ground level. Horizontally sliding square windows with stone sills and segmental arches.
The first recorded owner of Ellis’ Mill was a wealthy landowner named Anthony Meres. It went through a succession of owners until December 1894 when John Ellis bought the mill for £250. He died in 1920, but his wife and son successively retained ownership until 1973. The mill was still in working order in 1940, but lost its sails in 1941, when Frank Ellis was the miller.
The Mill remained fully operational until it fell into receivership in 1973 and in 1974 a fire destroyed all of the remaining woodwork. In 1977 the Lincoln Civic Trust acquired the mill and began its reconstruction, led by Chris Salisbury, millwright.
A cap mechanism was acquired from ‘Subscription Mill’ in Sturton-by-Stow and the stones and drives from ‘Eno’s Mill’ at Toynton-all-Saints and the sails and fantail were made by Thompson and Co from Alford. The reconstruction was completed in 1980 and milling began again in 1981. Lincolnshire County Council took it over in 1995.
The brick foundations of an ancillary building in the north-east part of the site were recorded in 2006, along with a short length of brick wall and a stone wall or foundation immediately north of the mill. Ellis Mill remains a working mill producing flour and is open to the public on Saturday afternoons.

Happy New Year or - as we say in Sweden - Gott Nytt År!!!
It is time to enter the photo/art contest! Deadline is May 5. The theme of this year’s PUDDLE is The Clock Strikes Twelve / steampunk. Your entry does not have to reflect “steampunk” specifically. If your entry shows a clock, a gear, the number 12, or 12 of anything, or if features the colors red, brown, and/or gold/yellow, it will be in theme. Details here:
In a time of constant stress, it is important to take time off, to unwind and relax, to restore calm and inner peace. This was the idea of this MOC, my way of relaxing and taking a break from everyday tasks and release the stress.

.......................

An old circular clock with Roman numerals marked the time in the lobby of The Caledonian Hotel. Late in the afternoon, chandelier crystals reflected onto the clock face, distorting the view but not obscuring it entirely. The subtle tension between precise timekeeping and reflective beauty caught my attention, a sight which I found alluring.

I used a ten and six stop ND filter stacked together to do this long time exposure of the lifting clouds above Canmore Alberta. I did a bit of dodging and burning to bring out more of the contrast.

Description: No matter which track you are on, the world will keep on turning and the hands of time will keep on ticking; when it's your time to go the Space-Time Continuum will find you and return you to the sands of time.
Time once again to roll the clocks forward. People trend to grumble about losing an hour of sleep, but my body seems to adapt quickly to the spring clock change. I awaken earlier and feel more energized during the day. Everything seems to happen at a faster pace; the work day seems to fly by. Best of all is it generally marks the end of driving home in the dark. I figure my odds of striking a deer decrease dramatically. The time change always brings renewed calls for leaving the clocks set on a single time zone all year long. The problem with that is people want to lock in on standard time. Not me; I love having light in the sky until nearly 10 pm in the summer. I say if we do go to a single time zone, let's make it daylight saving time!
