6495: Time Tunnelator

A complete redesign from the old revamp I made years ago.

I had the idea of a flying alarm clock in my mind, so I went with it. A lot of inspiration came from wacky races too with this one.

"Layers of Time:" It amazes me how many years it must have taken to form the Grand Canyon and how many layers of time are comprised in its depths of rock. In this image, you can also see the layers of silhouettes that culminate at the top as they are infused with both showers and diffused sunlight.

As I wandered about the Civil War encampment, I searched out people that actually looked like they had come from another era. There were many people in period uniform and attire. But every now and again I would encounter someone who really pulled it off, someone who looked like a time traveller. These faces jumped right out at me, even from great distances. I'm sure none of these people recognized that they possessed the look, or even why I had singled them out. I would offer a brief explanation. But trying to sum up one's passion for a particular subject in a couple of quick sentences generally falls short. I think more often than not my explanations sounded more like incoherent babbling. One thing I have learned in photography is that when I see something, the goal is to capture it while I'm in the moment. Everything else can wait. Anyway these became the basis for some very convincing portraits.

it's soooooo great fun to blow bubbles with soap water ;-)

A very different style after my last build! Eventually I'll finish the rest of the body so it's more than just the arms. :)

Built for the Summer Joust's Stairway Tales! Potentially my last build for this competition, wish I had more time. :/

After shooting the Milky Way coming up to the south side of the dome I came around and lined up the north star above the dome and shot the star trails.

It was a good time to put my audio book on and sit back and relax for the next 1 1/2 hours as my happy camera clicked away.

Seen on October 4, 2022 in my little crabapple tree in Troy, New York, USA. Sorry for the poor quality. Cell phone camera grab shot through the window. This week, various critters decided it was time to harvest the crabapples. Today was the squirrels' turn. I am ever thankful for the parade of wildlife I see through the window of my computer room!

Men have conquered space. Their travelled around the world, created cars, trains to connect cities, built ships and boats to cross oceans and connect continents, planes ans specship to explore sky and go to the moon.

But what about time ? Time remains a mystery. A virgin territory where men are still so small. Time accelerates or slow down without we can do nothing and the only thing we can do is following its run until the end of our lives.

L'homme a maîtrisé l'espace.
