This great lady is selling fruits in a little village of Bali. Her eyes mean a lot to me...Telling stories. Happy or sad? She is challenging time by working at that age...

L303 climbs up out of the Lake O dip and past the intermediates at CH 118. The searchlights on the Plymouth Sub are not long for the world, as a bad storm ripped through the area last summer and all but destroyed most of the code line. After issuing a temporary signal suspension for part of the line, the long-standing plans to replace these old signals were finally accelerated, and 2024 sounds like it will be the last year for searchlights on this part of the old Pere Marquette. New signals are already in service from CH 105 east towards Lansing.

Description: No matter which track you are on, the world will keep on turning and the hands of time will keep on ticking; when it's your time to go the Space-Time Continuum will find you and return you to the sands of time.
Water levels at an all time high at Jordan Lake, NC. I've been wading into 40 degree water to get some amazing shots this winter.
Time once again to roll the clocks forward. People trend to grumble about losing an hour of sleep, but my body seems to adapt quickly to the spring clock change. I awaken earlier and feel more energized during the day. Everything seems to happen at a faster pace; the work day seems to fly by. Best of all is it generally marks the end of driving home in the dark. I figure my odds of striking a deer decrease dramatically. The time change always brings renewed calls for leaving the clocks set on a single time zone all year long. The problem with that is people want to lock in on standard time. Not me; I love having light in the sky until nearly 10 pm in the summer. I say if we do go to a single time zone, let's make it daylight saving time!
This image of the iconic Durdle Door on England's Jurassic Coast is brought to you by 8 hours in the car over 320 miles; 6000 footsteps; sub-zero temperatures; cold fingers; wet jeans; and darkness so extreme my 30 sec test shots at ISO6400 were only just usable. Hope it was worth it?
With the aforementioned factors in mind, I now have a pretty good idea why there are very few other star trail images from this location... a few more details on my blog.

No snow yet but mornings are frosty and cold in the gardens. Time for turtleneck jackets on tender little dogs. ❤️

An old circular clock with Roman numerals marked the time in the lobby of The Caledonian Hotel. Late in the afternoon, chandelier crystals reflected onto the clock face, distorting the view but not obscuring it entirely. The subtle tension between precise timekeeping and reflective beauty caught my attention, a sight which I found alluring.

“Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no to-morrow. To forget time, to forgive life, to be at peace.”

Introduction
I
A lonely soul has traveled from afar,
probing the future, seeking the past,
toiling arduously, and pursuing a dream.
It knows not whence it comes or it goes,
born in tears and fading in despair.
Though trampled underfoot, it is still holding on.
Your coming puts an end to afflicted life adrift.
I catch a sight of hope, and welcome the light of dawn.
I gaze into the misty distance, I catch a glimpse of Your shape.
That is the radiance, the radiance of Your face.
II
Yesterday, drifted in foreign land,
but today I’ve found my way back home.
Riddled with wounds, unlike human,
I lament life is a dream.
Your coming puts an end to afflicted life adrift.
I am no longer lost. I’m no longer wandering.
My home I’m now within. Now I see Your white robe.
That is the radiance, the radiance of Your face.
Many cycles of rebirth, so many years of waiting,
now the Almighty has come.
The lonely soul found its way, and it’s no longer sad.
A dream of a thousand years.
