This started out as a late afternoon time lapse movie, with individual shots taken every minute, until it got dark. But instead of a movie, I created this composite by taking one slice from each image. Here the time slices begin at the lower left (around 5:30pm) and go on toward the upper right, until it gets dark, a little after 9pm, a total of 215 pictures. The occasional dark strips correspond to times when the sun went behind a cloud. The hook shaped clouds arise from the clouds moving down toward the horizon as time moves to the right.

Once the Central Hotel was a fine building but it's time is no more ,stepping out of the train station to see this building going to ruin is a shame
Abandoned Time Capsule house with so many interesting things left behind! There were a lot of 50's & 60's. I don't normally take detail shots but at this house I spent easily an hour in this one room setting up numerous shots as I went through piles of items. The most interesting thing here was the squirrel that had been stuffed. Such an odd thing to have done & keep!
Exploring is the mission, not a competition!

Many birds, such as wild geese, swans, ducks, etc. visit for wintering in "Pond Kabukuri" in Miyagi prefecture. Miyagi In November, the swans who came across the sea for overwintering, in the beautiful evening, Two birds in love, At dusk Lovely time, The time of two birds in love went by. A lot of wild goose cries crying.It was like a blessing two birds.
This pretty Orinoco goose was having a lovely time splashing about in a pond at Bentley Wildfowl. (Thanks, Neva, for the ID.)
Just a wildflower...but so much more is the memory of picking them for mom. Every spring time stands still for me when they return.

2024 Weekly Alphabet Challenge, Week 10, J for Jigsaw The magnolia tree in our garden is out in bloom at least three weeks early ! Made into a kind of jigsaw puzzle for this week's theme.

So the Fort was garrisoned at the weekend by three units of British Tommy's and some female troops. The standard of kit was exceptional and it really was like stepping back in time.
Retired Time Traveller Dr. Cyber sits in his jammies pondering what happened to Timmy, his sidekick and faithful friend. While relaxing in his hypno lazyboy, a time vortex appeared momentarily. It dropped a note. IT'S TIMMY, HELP US! 2089. Dr Cyber's daughter, Dr. Alicia Cyber, now takes the mantle of TIME CRUISERS... to find Timmy and save the universe.
2018 hasn't been too shabby for good trains on the CP, but this one might just beat them all. In a totally unexpected move, train 288 ended up with a trio of classic EMD's as power, with a "dual flag" CP Rail-lettered SD40-2 up front. From when it was first reported around Watertown, the info spread around the Chicagoland railfan community like wildfire. A few friends and I opted to shoot the train around the Howard Avenue curve in Des Plaines, and for the most part, we got what we bargained for, despite shadowing getting ever-worse as the day went on. I still ended up with a great shot, and in the end, one thing's for certain: this ain't happening again for a LONG time.
Burrowing Owls ---- The adult burrowing owl (on right) had just landed with a tasty bug. She was immediately attacked by the little ones. The one with its wings up was the lucky recipient, but that did not stop the other one from still trying. Feeding the little ones can be risky for the adults. I have seen adults seriously injured by their young. Thanks for you comments and favs!!
