Somewhere in Amemura, three umbrellas emerged.
"As a photographer I’m always looking for elevated spots to shoot from. This picture was taken from the 8th floor of a hotel in Amerikamura, Osaka."

The Three Mystic Apes : "SEE no evil, HEAR no evil, SPEAK no evil" The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil.
The Three Patriarchs is a set of three sandstone monoliths on the west side of Zion Canyon in Zion National Park in Washington County, Utah, United States. The three main peaks were named by Frederick Fisher in 1916 for the biblical figures Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Three fishermen on rugged rocks,
Beneath a sky of somber gray,
With lines cast out, they share their talks,
As gulf and sky meld into one this day.
Compilation of three shots of surf scoters in San Diego Bay, San Diego, California, USA. The surf scoter is a large sea duck, which breeds in Canada and Alaska. The genus name is derived from Ancient Greek melas "black" and netta "duck".
With early morning sunshine casting warm golden light, there was a cool blue cast in the shadows I just couldn't cure. But in a way it created a more colourful scene at Three Shires Head. Such a shame I didn't notice the steamy disc across the lens from a warm lens cap, or remember to focus on the scene. But I like the colours in this wintry scene. And I managed not to include the three other togs who were bobbing up and down closer to the old pack horse bridge.

We are still in the South visiting with our newest Grandson 'Luka.' We shall be making our way North again soon.
I suppose this photo of the 'Three Kings' formation might be a metaphor for our travels to visit our newest born. :)
The three peaks in the middle of the image to the left of the tallest tree are called the Three Apostles. From L to R: West Apostle, Ice Mountain and North Apostle. They form the Three Apostles Massif on the Continental Divide in the Sawatch Range in central Colorado. All three are 13,500'+ and Ice Mountain is a few feet less than 14.000'.

I haven’t been able to go out and work on my night time series for the past several weeks. But my camera still calls to me, so I’ve returned to the studio, so to speak, to shoot flowers. I decided to use light painting. The result is really an eclectic mix of styles. Each day, I ran with whatever idea came to me, and improvised as I went along. So this is more an odds and sods collection than a series of thematically connected images. There has been a lot of discards along the way, but enough keepers to start posting. It is keeping me engaged, and I hope to soon get back out under night skies.

American Oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus)
New Jersey
A reprocess and post of this older image..
This is the first image in a three image set, which will show this Oystercatchers mollusc feeding technique. Each image will tell a bit of the story...
The Oystercatchers long orange bill is not only for probing in the sand and mud, but is excellent at prying open molluscs like clams and mussels. I've read that some Oystercatchers have a more blunt shaped bill tip and will use it to smash open the shell of some molluscs species to get at its meat. Although I can't imagine the bill being strong enough to smash through this hardshell Cherrystone Clam.
When this Oystercatcher (pictured above) located a clam. It pryed it open, then worked it around a bit and sniped the adducter muscle (which opens and closes the clam) and split the clam in half exposing the clams soft edible tissues.
