Yet another beaded crochet project. I could actually stand to use reading glasses while I make these.
Do not expect to sleep easy after an initial attempt at the DTE (drawn thread embroidery). Requires extreme concentration, and has the deadly capability of causing feverish nightmares afterwards. End result does look very pretty, however, and may actually be worth all that trouble.

Starting to get desperate now looking for brightly coloured things around the house!

i crocheted these shawls out of quilting thread a couple of years ago and then never got around to blocking them or listing them till a customer asked about them recently, so i pulled them out to take pictures. i'd forgotten just how many i made! :lol: i'll be blocking them all this weekend and then listing them on etsy soon. if you are interested in any before that my email addy is in my profile.
Just some little graphic design experiments I've been playing with in Illustrator as I learn the new version
Hand-painted orange, yellow and brown cotton thread and dark brown thread crocheted in a monkey-wrench pattern, then made stiff with fabric hardener.
One of the reasons I like oriental markets is that you can find anything there. Green threads, cream threads, rubber band - what else?

Stitched on 28 count linen using WDW and Sampler Threads along with Just Another Button Company buttons.
My thread collection is gradually dwindling and will need to be restocked soon. I plan on show casing these beauties in the quilting of my paint chip quilt - the quilt has 36 colors, and I have nearly that many! I bought these threads on holiday on a tiny French market. I've never heard of the brand. It's a cotton thread, twisted 2-ply and it looks really nice! Have you ever heard of this thread? And embroidered with it? Tell me what you think!

The man is this photo brings loose threads from the market, adds colors manually at home, and sells them to the handloom/power loom weavers to earn money.
Aurifil Thread mosaic for the Aurifil Make-A Designer-Collection competition on Lily's Quilts. I'm experimenting with different ways of creating the image. This palette is named after the very popular aqua, red, white and black quilts that were popping up a year or two ago. What can I say, I still love the colors! I'd choose 50 wt thread because it's so versatile.
I felt a need to stash some thread. I was actually completely out of white thread! So, I ordered 10 spools to keep the twitching down.
