The Macro Mondays year started with cotton and I thought it would be good to finish with it.

Happy Sliders Sunday!
I used a brightly colored pink and blue fabric as the background for the needle/thread. In post I added some HDR and a Ribbet filter called Panography-ish, then added a drop-shadow frame.
Always one to follow a thread, or a train of thought and after my "From train" up load of the car and the bridge, upon arrival at WBQ, i realized this train was running 180+ mins late, which in turn lead to a rethink, i decided to head back to Earlestown ( not far ) get in the car and drive to here, again not far, with a shot in mind, but also with the opportunity of a practice shot before hand, albeit on a South bound pair of Skoda's,but practice is practice,
Ok, it is far from perfect, but a reasonable attempt, from which i learned a lot, which was the name of the game.
After reasonable pleasure from "Girl on a Bike, i thought i would try a subject with a lot more mass and speed,
With hind sight, i would move further left, and maybe take some steps to stand on, the inside of the drivers door frame was stable, but not high enough, to clear the trees left. and the stable building right. hence the crop.
Oh and possibly on a dry day.........
When I saw the fleeting last light striking these gorgeous aspen-clad mountains along the Silver Thread, I really liked how those last rays amplified the warm colors of the autumn foliage. I went with a simple composition here to help isolate the special light and play off the contrast of the hillside still in shade, it sort of has made me think I need to explore lower-dynamic range/high-contrast compos more often.
Detail shivering spiral
The shivering spiral is a classic at any party. Try to get from the beginning to the end as quickly as possible without letting the loop touch the thread. Does the buzzer sound or do you hear an alarm? Then you have to go back to the beginning or the last resting point.

This is a single shot HDR with a little extra zing on the colours and processing.
Hey it's Sunday. What can I say. We need to have a different kind of fun some days.
and Laura, don't be staring at my buttons.
Happy Slider Sunday
For Macro Monday's theme of Cotton and Definitely Dreaming week 1 theme of Man Made. Keeping these threads separate is a problem!
The cotton reels are small so the whole lot makes the 3 inch size

"Ttéia 1,C" by Lygia Pape - The Ttéias are constructed by the geometric installation of silver or gold-coloured threads in a space, either from the floor to the ceiling.
The word ‘ttéia’, which Pape created, is an elision of the Portuguese word for ‘web’ and ‘teteia’, a colloquial word for a graceful and delicate person or thing.

11/52 Needle and Thread - Macro Mondays
I hunted my collection of threads for something a little different and found this gold thread :)
Sorry, spiders' lovers, but the intent was to show just its amazing work and how this spiderweb sparkled in the sun. And as it was in the highest place than me, I had to use a tele and not the lens to macro.
