This week, not so much for the old iron craft challenge. I present a pathetic decoupaged jar that seemed like a good idea at the time. It is actually my second try as my first attempt at rising to the bottle or jar challenge was really lame. Fortunately there is always next week.
The male, on top, did not have any success trying to mate with the female. This is Ammophila procera, one of the largest of the thread-waisted wasps in North America (about 2 inches, 48-50 mm).
I stumbled into this amazing store called "Tinsel Trading Company" where they had the most amazing fabrics and trim. These are 100 year old threads in gold and silver. So beautiful.
Their website is tinseltrading.com and it says it's Martha Stewart's favorite store. In the world. I believe it.
I waited till the last minute (who me??) and actually brought a towel, a spray bottle, a blocking board, and pins and blocked this in the car on the way to IL, haha! it turned out really nice :)
vintage size 10 crochet thread and a size 7 hook.
