i should really stop taking these pictures... but they are fun :D so this picture was really awkward, this is also a teacher from last year accept i don't think she remembers me... awkward
so while at marching band practice there was a big fire not too far away going on
this was my order of thoughts:
1) wooaa thats a fire
2) that's big
3) that's really close
4) what if my house burns down
5) its all cool i have my camera with me
6) maybe i could take some cool artsy photos of my burnt house
7) alright i'm cool with this

In other words that means, that german users can not access photos on flickr that are not flaged "safe" ... only flowers and landscapes for the germans ...

Seit gestern werden für deutsche Nutzer keine Bilder mehr angezeigt, die als 'moderate' oder 'restricted' markiert sind! Es gibt keine Moeglichkeit das umzustellen - das ist eine grobe Unverschämtheit und Frechheit von flickr!

I think we are looking at Lower Buckenhill Wood and Siege Wood, which are just east of the village of Fownhope. Hay Bluff and the Brecon Beacons are in the far distance. Although a grey day, I like the gentle colouring.

People think of Pittsburgh as a place of lots and lots of hills, not so. It is a world of valleys, large and small and ravine,s lots and lots of them all leading to the Ohio. For the people that live here, the term shopping up and down the valley means just that. Tonight we were shopping and eating dinner in Ohio valley as a storm passed over. We finished shopping when we saw this sunset breaking through the storm. So the race was on. Up the large valley, turn into a smaller one, then along the ridge to a local park. Stopped the car near the three tier monument, steadied the camera on the 2nd tier because I am to old to climb all the way to the top, and shot this photo.
I think the accepted name for these is Black-tailed Wallaby. They are pretty solitary animals and this one was quite alone, half way down the side of the quarry. They are interesting for a couple of reasons: they are not related closely to other local macropods, and they can eat bracken, poisonous to most animals.
It was a beautiful if windy winter's day so I took a short stroll up the local 'mountain'. It's a city mountain so not very high and it has a gigantic bite missing on one side where the old quarry remains a gaping sore or spectacular locale for minor adventure, depending on your point of view. This has become my favourite local walk now, the birds are just the usual, but they're predictable and often confiding. A peregrine pair use the quarry though I often don't see them, this time it was a fleeting woosh as one scythed up from the lower parts of the quarry past me never to be seen again.
