I think just about the only way to tell a '56 from a '55 is the treatment of the exhaust pipe tips - in the '55 they were in chrome pods on top of the rear bumper. If the removable hard top is on, the '56 had round porthole windows that (as I recall) were not there in the '55.
She was just as adorable as she could be and was just starting to walk..more like running!
I did use this texture from http://www.flickr.com/photos/duncan_allan/2679984590/in/set-72157606238844843/
I think this is Adaa, but I could be wrong. He is always spyhopping and keeping tabs on everything that is going on - even the boats in Puget Sound that he can see through the windows in the otter exhibit.
Think we need to get in closer, turn pages faster so that each diary at the end is about 1-2 mins in length.
My first attempt at making a movie with the E-PL1. Talk about learning by doing.... still, I think it conveys the idea of what it's like down there right now, even though it took me a while to figure out the focusing (keep the shutter half-pressed - duh!).
We visited the area around the multi-function hall or station of Faido, one of two future underground emergency stations. The two main tunnels, 57km each, are nearly completely dug out. At this point in Faido, they are already lined with concrete and are waiting for the electrical work and the final high-speed rails to be laid.
The workers work (can anyone think of a better synonym?) around the clock in three eight-hour shifts. They go on for nine days, then have four days off. There are general holidays in August and over Christmas. Wages are very good, and safety levels are high; nevertheless, there have been seven casualties since work started, all but one due to accidents with the various vehicles: only one was hit by a falling rock, which I found remarkable given that the men are working with up to 2.5km of rock over them.
I think this AE86 was awarded the Best in Show. Funny, in the past there was no love for cross-bred cars especially the F20c that was a popular swap in a number of cars. Clean install none-the-less
This photo was marked for family only, but in light of 3 fairly recent accidents near or on the water I thought I would post it as a reminder. Please be extra cautious with the little ones. In just a moment they can be gone or horribly damaged. Have fun....be safe :)))
First shots out of the M50. Its very small, very light and the detail is very cool, its going to take some getting used to compared to the size and heft of the old 350D, some minor irritations but nothing major
As the title suggests, this was taken in Glen Rosa on Arran. I think it's one of my favourite places I have visited - Arran as a whole is full of amazing wee pockets of beauty (as well as huge swathes of it) but Glen Rosa had a special atmosphere for me. It was so quiet. I didn't even care that it poured with rain as we walked back.

"...uh oh...I think he escaped again!"
Before I left for work:
1. dolly - check
2. camera - check
3. wubba chicken - oops
Pudding's wubba chicken must have escaped to hide somewhere in the house before we left for work today...hopefully he will turn up soon (pretty sure I know where he's hiding)
Happy wubba Wednesday anyway!

Think Outside the Bomb's Disarmament Summer encampment took to the streets of Santa Fe on August 5 to pre-educate people about the rising dangers of uranium mining and enlargement of nuclear weapons production at the nearby Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Think for a moment about some of the most valuable life lessons you've ever learned...Hard times and adversity will strip the pretend off people like nothing else, and reveal folks true character or lack there of...our own too. 😬
Thank God for the hard times too...use them to get better rather than bitter.
💯
Have a blessed Sunday. When you learn to count it all joy, you always win. 🎶📻🎶
Hard times can take you on a natural trip
So keep your balance, and don't you slip
Hard times is nothing new on me
I'm gonna use my strong mentality
Like the cream of the crop, like the crop of the cream
B-B-beating hard times, that is my theme
Hard times in life, hard times in death
I'm gonna keep on fighting to my very last breath

I think this was the late 1970's at our first house in Cary, North Carolina. Note the faux-wood siding on the Plymouth Volare station wagon and the bright orange Volkswagon Beetle.
i think, hope, this is pretty self-explanatory. the similarities between my hair and plant life are pretty amusing, if you ask me.
what might not be, however, is the nearly visible bruise & bump across my forehead from a door shutting in my face, in a nutshell. looking like an abuse case is the new black, guys.
Per the National Gallery of Art (NGA) Sculpture Garden website:
"Barry Flanagan explored painting, dance, and installation work as alternatives to the constructed metal sculptures that were the prevalent idiom when he was in art school in London in the 1960s.
His inventive and varied body of work is filled with humor and poetic associations, often evoked by the particular organic materials he employed.
While working with clay in the early 1980s, Flanagan perceived the image of a hare "unveiling" itself before him.
The hare motif has appeared in a variety of guises in Flanagan's bronzes. In 'Thinker on a Rock', the artist substitutes the hare for Rodin's Thinker (1880), making an irreverent reference to one of the world's best-known sculptures, a version of which may be seen in the West Building sculpture galleries."
