I think we all have some regrets in this hobby. For me, my regret was passing up the UP Altoona Sub while on my way to The River. The former '400' route across Wisconsin was about as 'old school' as you could get in the state; jointed rail, ABS with search lights, and two full cross bars of glass insulators and wire lining the right-of-way. As you can guess, I didn't take advantage of it while I could.
But sometimes you're given second chances. A short 24 mile chunk of UP still exists in Wisco with that 'old school' feel. This is about all you're guaranteed to get during daylight though - a short local blasting by at a brisk 50. It's one and done from here, but there is something to said about that; frame up your shot carefully and spend the rest of your time taking it all in.
I don't think I have ever posted such a daring photo, however I loved how this turned out. Sort of looking from the outside in and realizing, at least for the moment, the girl is now there and not just in my head.
So this is pretty much sooc apart from tones..

uhm yeah. i went to a family day and i rediscovered how amazing family is, i have two cousins, and they both adore me. Then i have an uncle, and since i said i always wanted a bigbrother he promised me he could be my bigbrother. He's only 10 years older than me :)
Its my birthday soon!! Wraah! I dont know what to wish for though. And its very fall-ish suddenly, all cold and cozy, and it turns dark at eight. Fall might be my favourite time at year, but everything has pros and cons :D
-oh yes. At school im the best at almost everything. Or maybe not the best, but im the one whos trying hardest. I feel like the teachers are annoyed because i almost always speak.... And everybody's terrible at english, argh! And they stare at me and they start to say stuff like "you are reaaaally good at english" and i dont know what to do... I feel like Hermione, and i feel like i am trying too hard... ehe. You didnt have to know that. Sorry, im babling. Better go to sleep.

Me thinks I'm almost neglected. Poor poor me.....sigh.....my walks are NEVER long enough, and they don't take me to the beach as often as I would appreciate it and do you think they feed me the liverwurst sandwiches I like so much? Oh no no, all I get is ordinary dog food. Oh woe is me, this is really a dog's life...sigh...

Most people think that these predators are just waiting for them to come along, but the truth is that they really do have a natural fear of man and at times unapproachable as was the case here. They are aware of their surroundings and never think that you are sneaking up on one. They know you are there and will allow you to get as close as THEY want you to get.
I wanted a better view of this pair since they are a likely mating couple but have no idea when that will occur. The pair slid off into the water as I approached and never returned to bask in the sun on this day. I paddled past them and was soon joined by someone who obviously didn’t know the rules of this particular part of the bayou and was running a gas outboard motor on his boat. He didn’t stay long, but that thoroughly disturbed the wildlife on the bayou for a while. The bull alligator was still near the same location when I returned but most of his body was in the water.
The only reason that I am referencing this pair is because this is the likely culprit that dealt Jack the critical blow to his eye. Jack hung out here for a few months, but as I stated previously, has moved on to waters that are not as contested as these. This particular alligator is roughly the same size as Jack and in the 13-foot range , but obviously came out the victor after the battle.

I think it's 54 years since the Leicester to Birmingham line lost most of its intermediate stations, thanks to the local council Narborough re-opened within 2 years (giving me a start on the railway).
Wigston had to wait for a decade before a new station called South Wigston opened.
