I think I've got the ID correct; please correct me if not. According to the websites I've read, this hoverfly is common; however, I don't think I've seen it before. I found this one on an umbellifer (which it apparently favours) in Lainshaw Woods, Stewarton. It didn't pose for many shots before hovering off :D.
It doesn't seem to have a common name.
Think it knows the green on its wings matches the green on the aged metal?

The little story...
Passionate about rock/pop music and especially the famous group Pink Floyd, Christophe, guitarist/singer, decides upon returning from a concert to embark on this project.
A formation of 4 musicians quickly takes shape.
The group Think Lloyd was born!
The rehearsals start in the small recording studio at Christophe’s and very quickly a repertoire of the great standards of Pink Floyd is set up, but also many lesser-known pieces just as captivating.
The first 2 concerts took place during the Fête de la Musiqueen in June 2013, and the very large audience seemed to greatly appreciate these moments of return to the past.
In September 2014, Éloïse joined the band to further embellish the musical atmosphere thus created, followed by Olivier on saxophones.
Stéphan on the bass and Nicolas on the drums, constituted the rhythmic base of the group.
It also became necessary to double the guitars and expand certain parts, and it was Jérôme’s turn to join the group with this objective.
More recently, Bruno on keyboards and Manuela on choirs integrated this formation to further embellish the musical universe thus created.
In view of the interest of the multiple concerts given by Think Lloyd, it became essential to surround oneself with talented technicians in order to get as close as possible to Pink Floyd’s famous stage performances... both at the level of live sound mixing and light effects embellishing each stage performance. such was the goal brilliantly set by Michel.

"I want to sing like the birds sing. Not worrying about who hears or what they think." -Rumi
Well did you think I could go to Holy Island and not visit the Priory? Of course not. Here's the history.
Lindisfarne Priory on Holy Island was one of the most important centres of early Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England. It is still a place of pilgrimage today, the dramatic approach across the causeway adding to the fascination of the site.
St Aidan founded the monastery in AD 635, but St Cuthbert, prior of Lindisfarne, is the most celebrated of the priory's holy men.
From the end of the 8th century, the isolated island with its rich monastery was easy prey for Viking raiders. In 875 the monks left, carrying Cuthbert's remains, which after long wanderings were enshrined in Durham Cathedral in 1104, where they still rest. Only after that time did Durham monks re-establish a priory on Lindisfarne: the evocative ruins of the richly decorated priory church they built in c. 1150 still stand, with their famous 'rainbow arch' - a vault-rib of the now vanished crossing tower. The small community lived quietly on Holy Island until the suppression of the monastery in 1537.

Stopped down much more than my usual settings for this deca exposure in order to hold back the ultra bright LEDs so as to keep me and the background plenty dark.
Headache extraordinaire and ridiculously soaked in the process !

Last image of 'the bridge' I think, though I would like to go back, be an interesting view from the top! Thanks for all your comments and feedback on these shots, lovely guys all of you :)

Another of Lindsey’s shots of Baby at the ER Vet. He slept all day on Lins’ bed and ate a few pieces of turkey, at two different times. At 10:30pm, I heated some chicken with rice soup, and he dove into the broth and rice. I’m hoping for a bit more activity from him tomorrow.....fingers crossed.
Captured this bizarre image last summer of this bee that looks like its purposely sitting and posing for me...
I think I'm going to have to officially relinquish my title of "purist," as this MOC does feature painted and 3D printed parts. But when vahki6 made Tear's spines in his 3D printed Rahkshi set, I had to give them a try. Tear is another character of mine from the BZP RPG Corpus Rahkshi, a disillusioned Rahkshi suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder.
Tear (pronounced "TEER") is a shy and emotional Rahkshi who suddenly found herself in the place her mother had always warned her about. Needless to say, she doesn't like Corpus Rahkshi, and longs to return to the loving embrace of her mother. Still, she has managed to find a few friends who help her cope with the idea that a murderer is sharing her head, though she relies on none more than Haru, her stuffed Hapaka toy.
I've also made instructions here.
