White Flowering Dogwood buds with foliage in full Fall color. All of my dogwoods flower buds are packed and ready to go when we get a burst of warm sunny days in early April. The wait through winter should be worth it.
Common.
Think about the natural rhymes of the world
The seasons don’t rush
Winter does not apologize for its stillness
For the slowing down and resting that allows Spring to bloom in full force
A river may seems calm on the surface
But beneath that stillness
The waters are flowing redirecting shaping the earth

Stillness in nature is never stagnation
It’s preparation reflection in renewal
Stillness is where resilience is built
When you stop and let the dust settle
You can see clearly what remains standing

Don't remember where I took this picture, but I think it was in Europe a long time ago. If I built this building I would have put the statue of the Thinker where I put it in this image. But they didn't and I did. That's what I do - correct reality.
This is a garage door (I think) in the Old Town (I think) in Zurich (I know!).
A bit of mystery from daruma* blockhead :-)

Spring is finally here, although I found this more suitable in view of current global events...

"All human errors are impatience, the premature breaking off of what is methodical, an apparent fencing in of the apparent thing." -Franz Kafka. Sorry couldn't resist; took me 45 minutes sitting there to get someone who stood still long enough!
Day 163. Yes, it's weird I know.... I had a frightful realization about how many more ideas I need to come up with, so this was a moment of anything goes :-)
Every year nearly 46,000 people receive the devastating news that they have breast cancer. Dealing with this diagnosis can be a confusing, lonely and frightening time not only for the person diagnosed, but for their partner, family and friends.
Most of us have been, or will be affected by cancer at some time in our lives. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please support this wonderful cause.
I think this will be the final shot from a string of photos captured in late November. I was on the road that day and stumbled upon this abandoned homestead. Looking back, I should have been more careful while wandering around, as it was hunting season in the Midwest. Luckily, no stray rounds that day.
Wake up, Maggie I think I got something to say to you
It's late September and I really should be back at school
I know I keep you amused, but I feel I'm being used
Oh, Maggie, I couldn't have tried any more
You led me away from home
Just to save you from being alone
You stole my heart, and that's what really hurts - Rod Stewart
Magpies have always given me problems. If the light wasn't perfect I could count on getting no details from this bird. Today was overcast and gray but when this bird just landed on this mullein a stone's throw away I knew I had a golden opportunity. I had time for a short burst and not even a chance to zoom out before the bird was gone. It was like Maggie was having some compassion late this September before leaving.
This little one keeps me on my toes more than any other. Quinn is starting to look more and more like a girl and more and more like a little person EVERY DAY!! It amazes me!
I didnt think the predicted Thunder storm would happen yesterday but as soon as i seen the flashes in the sky around half 10 i was out the house, on my bike down the road to the nearest field! unfortunately going by the flash, count the seconds to the thunder sound distance calculator they were about 20 miles away so i didnt see a any sustainable forks of lightning. this was the best i got.
