I think people find the comparisons to the Nazi Germany and the Holocaust ridiculous because the idea that we would, in this day and age, put people in gas chambers and mass kill them is ridiculous.
The main point of the comparison is to note that ordinary Germans ultimately supported crimes against humanity.
The sad reality is that if you consider the wars that we are engaged in, our response to immigrants, our response to refugees, our actions to Muslims, the LGBQ community, to people of color and most importantly our role in the dire climate crisis: ordinary Americans are already supporting crimes against humanity. It's not coming if we don't adjust course: it is already here.
Loin des salons, des vernissages et autres antichambres dorées, la pensée est à l'oeuvre, partout.
Y compris dans la rue...
Sometimes there is too much light. This Kestrel did not seem bothered by me approaching it, but I couldn't quite get the right angle for the harsh light. It has come out reasonably well following a few adjustments on the computer.
Nothing says spring quite like the arrival of baby animals. Here is a cute little fox kit holding a meal from mom and dad. I think he was more interested in playing than eating.
Dianthus (/daɪˈænθəs/ dy-AN-thəs)[1] is a genus of about 340 species of flowering plants in the family Caryophyllaceae, native mainly to Europe and Asia, with a few species in north Africa and in southern Africa, and one species (D. repens) in arctic North America. Common names include carnation (D. caryophyllus), pink (D. plumarius and related species) and sweet william (D. barbatus).
They grew well at home but like most plants sold in garden centers here it is short lived in Florida.
Think of me, think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me, once in a while
Please promise me you'll try
When you find that once again you long
To take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment
Spare a thought for me
We never said our love was evergreen
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember
Stop and think of me
Think of all the things
We've shared and seen
Don't think about the way
Things might have been
Think of me, think of me waking
Silent and resigned
Imagine me trying too hard
To put you from my mind
Recall those days
Look back on all those times
Think of the things we'll never do
There will never be a day
When I won't think of you
Can it be, can it be Christine?
Bravo!
Long ago, it seems so long ago
How young and innocent we were
She may not remember me
But I remember her
Flowers fade, the fruits of summer fade
They have their season so do we
But please promise me that sometimes
You will think of me

I hope I am not the only one who is happy that summer is coming to an end. This summer was exceptionally HOT where I live. I am not a fan of the heat. I also think I can speak for just about anyone when I say, we are close to another season and year ending. I am super excited for autumn and all that is autumn in Second Life. It is not only my favorite season in RL but here also. Sweaters and jeans, boots and leggings and all the autumn colors that come with it.
This land was a piece i have been working on for the last week or so. I decorate when I need to just let go of RL and the things that are bothering me.
I went to the L2 Studio sim for a bit of inspiration when I wanted to compliment Miss Lindini Lane on her choices of Decor. Simply adore her shabby chic style. I happened to come upon this build; The Writers Shed. I have been to this sim many times and I had never seen it. So happy I had because it was so lovely to decorate. Not only that, Miss Lane was so gracious, she offered it to me as a gift ♥ So thank you again for your generous gift!
You might be able to tell, the inside is packed full of amazing decor. While this home is small, it is fabulous to decorate for any person who loves decor as much as me.
There are a few items I would like to spotlight. TBF- The Black Forest is in this round of Cosmopolitan with an amazing set. I especially like the Kerosene Lamp, it comes with different options as well as being able to carry it with a bento pose. Check out this item and the others he has just inside the entrance this round starting Monday September the 7th.
There also may be a few items listed that you can't see. This is because a lot of them might be in the garden shed or just inside the home. I will try to sift them out before I post, just know I did the best I can ♥
A full inventory of items is listed below, enjoy! ♥

The Tale:
Paying her entry fee, the mermaid swims swiftly through the zoo. There's a new exhibit she's eager to see. She heard the reports going viral on the dolphins' sonic waves.
Later...
Staring into the glass, she gives a disappointed sigh. The human won't come out. He's hiding in his den. Maybe he will come out at feeding time.

because any photo made in SL is a collaborative effort in the way movies are, everything is made by somebody and then you have to either create the landscape or scout for one. here is what I remember of who made what bits.

I think its really hard to get some interesting or new perspective on very famous locations.
This is my attempt at capturing Knowth, one of many megalithic burial sites in Ireland on Sept. 21 2008, with an Olympus SP570 super zoom bridge.
Unlike Newgrange which is a single enormous mound, this site has one larger passage tomb mound and 18 smaller mounds and burials around it.
Dating to around 3200BCE makes them some of the oldest man made structures on earth.
Another thing that makes Knowth different from Newgrange is it has a double passageway one leading from the east and one from the west. Only the eastern one leads to the chamber. But the west one ends close enough to hear someone on the other side of the wall. How intriguing.
We went super early in the morning, there were not tons of people the dew was still on the ground and the sun was low, creating great shadows and that emerald green you always hear about. It added lots of extra mystery as we made our way around the curves or the mounds.
Edited in Photoshop and Viveza and Alien Skin Exposure 7. I did lots of PS adjustment before taking it into Viveza for fine tuning then a couple of different layers with adjustments to presets then some layering and masking to complete the image.
I have a color version also,
which I may post it sometime in the future.
Feeling the mountains.......Quality time Project!!
Travel on the Monte Rosa: Monte Rosa is the highest mountain of both Switzerland and the Pennine Alps and is also the second-highest mountain of the Alps and Europe outside the Caucasus.

I think someone said that today was Thursday, so to mark the occasion here's an offering. L&N 1043 emerges from the forest preserve that surrounds the north side of Glenwood, IL on a dark dreary March day, just one month short of 40 years ago. The Old Reliable has a couple of high wides on the head end as it travels south on the joint L&N/MoPac ex C&EI. Next stop will be Danville for a little work and a crew change.
I think this is one of the most striking birds in Western Washington. Unfortunately, I've only seen them a couple of times in the yard, and I think they prefer more mature forest than is typical in my neighborhood. This one was at the McLane Creek Nature Trail, Olympia.
Note (January, 2017): While cleaning the roof and raingutters, I discovered a series of sapwells on our plum tree. Maybe there are more of these around my neighborhood than I thought.
