Don't think the book title sums up the book, even thought the Chinese girl in the story comes to England for a year to learn English and falls in love with an older man. She writes down all the new words she learns in a note book and you get one of these at the beginning of each short chapter.

The National Wallace Monument on Abbey Craig above the Carse of Stirling in Scotland was erected in memory of Scotland's greatest hero, Sir William Wallace, who, in 1297 at the Battle of Stirling Bridge defeated the English army and "sent them homewards to think again".
Everytime I think of you I always catch my breath
and I'm still standing here and you're miles away
and I'm wondering why you left
and there's a storm that's raging through my frozen heart tonight...
"Missing You!" was a number one-hit by John Waite in 1984, covered by Tina Turner in 1996.
Guess, who filmed the video of this song for Tina Turner? Yes, Peter Awesome Lindbergh :)
Check it out, he has a very unique way holding his camera.

Caught this cool pic awhile back and then found this perfect song to go with it...
Everyday is a new day
I'm thankful for every breath I take
I won't take it for granted ( I won't take it for granted)
So I learn from my mistakes
It's beyond my control sometimes it's best to let go,
whatever happens in this lifetime
So I trust in love ( So I trust in love )
You have given me peace of mind
I, I feel so alive
For the very first time
I can't deny you
I feel so alive
I, I feel so alive ( so alive)
For the very first time (For the very first time)
And I think I can fly
Sunshine upon my face (Sunshine upon my face)
A new song for me to sing
Tell the world how I feel inside
Even though it might cost me everything
Now that I know this is beyond my control
'cause I could never turn my back away
Now that I see you (Now that I see you)
I can never look away
I, I feel so alive
For the very first time
I can't deny you
I feel so alive
I, I feel so alive ( so alive)
For the very first time (For the very first time)
And I think I can fly
Now that I know you
I could never turn my back away
And now that I see you
I could never look away
And now that I know you
I could never turn my back away
And now that I see you
I believe no matter what they say
I, I feel so alive
For the very first time
I can't deny you
I feel so alive
I, I feel so alive(so alive)
For the very first time(For the very first time)
And I think I can fly
I, I feel so alive (so alive)
For the very first time(For the very first time)
And I think I can fly
I, I feel so alive ( so alive)
For the very first time(For the very first time)
And I think I can fly
And I think I can fly
And I think I can fly

Democracy in Venezuela is about to die, It has slowly been eroded for 9 years by a government that was elected by popular vote. But has systematically concentrated power on the president and discriminated opposers.
In Venezuela you can no longer think differently from the official view.
Those of us who oppose the regime are criminalized, many journalists have had to go on exile, there are political prisoners that have been for years in trails or processes that don’t go anywhere, some opposition political figures are in liberty but under constant harassment by the executive and judicial. Anyone who opposes can expect insults and defamation by the highest government officials and violence from its followers.
But the Venezuelan democracy will die on December 2, if a proposed constitutional reform is approved.
President Hugo Chavez, has design a constitutional reform that will modify 69 articles of the current constitution. A reform that is unconstitutional itself, because it changes the basic principles of the constitution and the definition of the Venezuelan State, which is in direct violation of itself, according to it modification of basic principles can’t be modified with a reform (Art 342), a Constitutional Assembly has to be convoked instead, to make a new constitution via vote.
The illegitimacy of the reform, if approved, is far from the only concern. The state will be defined as Socialist, and the exercise of the means of democratic participation like vote and participation on public office will have to be for the construction of socialism, making illegitimate any action by people of different political views, destroying political pluralism. In violation of the Human Rights (proposed art. 16, 70) (Violation of the art. 21 and 32 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights), and Chavez could reelect himself indefinitely.
When it is quiet
and you are alone
do you find peace?
Breathing in the
cool fresh air
clearing out the
residue of chaos
having the solitude
to search within
and find the answers
to questions in your heart
take the time
to be alone
to listen
to breathe
and to know.
peace can be found
when you need it.
i think we all feel like that sometimes... like we can't breath either literally (in my case) or metaphorically. how many times has each of us had our creativity stifled or our voices dulled by life or those around us?
some learn to live with it and some break free!

The Avro Lancaster is the most famous and successful RAF heavy bomber of World War Two. It is a legend that lives on today and the contribution made by the aircraft and its crews to the freedom of our nation will, hopefully, never be forgotten. The prototype Lancaster took to the air for its first flight from Woodford, Manchester, on 9th January 1941; the first production Lancaster flew later that year on 31st October. The first RAF unit to receive the new aircraft for operations (on Christmas Eve 1941) was No 44 Squadron at Waddington, quickly followed by 97 Squadron at Woodhall Spa. The performance of the Lancaster was simply outstanding. It could carry a maximum bomb load of 22,000 lb, its maximum level speed with a full load at 15,000 feet was 275 mph and it could cruise routinely at altitudes above 20,000ft at a range speed of 200 mph. With a full bomb load the aircraft had a range in excess of 1,500 miles. The Lancaster’s performance, its ruggedness, reliability and to many its sheer charisma, endeared it to its crews who were proud to fly this famous thoroughbred.
An impressive total of 7,377 Lancasters were built between 1941 and early 1946. Of these, some 3,500 were lost on operations and another 200 or so were destroyed or written off in crashes. The vast majority of those Lancasters that did survive the war were simply scrapped when their services were no longer required, as the reverence in which the aircraft is now held had yet to develop to the point where their preservation seemed important.
The Lancaster did not carry the weight of the night bombing offensive against Nazi Germany on its own but was supported by other earlier twin-engine bombers such as the Wellington and the other four-engine RAF heavy bombers – the Stirling and the Halifax – as well as medium bomber versions of the twin-engine De Havilland Mosquito. In total some 125,000 aircrew served in Bomber Command during World War Two; over 73,700 of them became casualties, either killed, wounded or shot down and made PoWs.
In a letter to the head of Avro after the war, Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir Arthur Harris, the Commander in Chief of Bomber Command, said of the Lancaster:
“I would say this to those who placed that shining sword in our hands: Without your genius and efforts we could not have prevailed, for I believe that the Lancaster was the greatest single factor in winning the war.”

Think I do need a long vacation or sth.. to temporarily escape everything in real life. #meaningOfLife?
I think it's clear that Linus isn't fond of the neighbour's dogs. They are noisy and they don't leave any doubt that they hate cats. For some reason all four of them tend to ignore Cleo completely whereas they bark and growl and behave like crazy whenever they see one of the boy cats. Linus prefers to stay at a safe distance, always near the cat flap which allows him to disappear in the house in case one the dogs should one day manage to climb over the fence.
I think this is (was) a 360 Spyder although I am sure enthusiasts will either put me right or agree. There was no engine in this example and it sits on very non-standard wheels.
No cropping on this one.....straight from the camera......just didn't think it was necessary...........I'm used to getting much closer to a drop...........but liked the depth and effect of this one.
