Spectacular view during a Hurtigruten Cruise along the Norwegian Coastline. There was Rain throughout the Day, but around 21:30 the Clouds began to disappear and an awesome "lightshow" began.....

This little thing has kept me sane during this extended lockdown... no doubt speaking to like minded people here.

He was simply and staunchly true to his duty alike in the large case and in the small. So all true souls ever are. So every true soul ever was, ever is, and ever will be. There is nothing little to the really great in spirit.

A set up shot for Studio 26 assignment 'exploring the colour red'. I have just read the book; a strange tale, I think aimed mainly at young teenagers but I still enjoyed it.

Having said I had nothing red, I then thought of Clive's red pot and 'grumpy old man' mug, put together with my book.

Taken at Spinalonga, Crete

I Love Flowers - they're lovely in gardens and in vases. I grew up in a house without flowers, and that is why I think I love them so much. More than having flowers for myself, which I LOVE, I LOVE giving them. This bunch, picked up at the local farmers market this morning is going to my good friend Di when we go there for dinner tonight. Grown locally, bought locally, supporting local families. Adding for 365 a day late.

If you look at the photo in lightbox, you will see someone watching you.

Happy Fence Friday, my friends! May you know a Grace that does not fail you.

Due to the rapid demise of my faithful old SX10is...

I came home with a new camera yesterday (!!!)

I was expecting to be ambivalent about it

but... it's not too bad ;-)

sometimes trends are delightfully fun!

1. two weeks after graduating high school (in the spring of 2007), i moved to montana to study photography for five months...i walked away with deeply rooted friendships and an understanding for a lot of things.

2. my father is an architect, my mother a seamstress.

3. i enjoy old things.

4. i enjoy live shows of music genres that i don't typically listen to.

5. i'm often terribly quiet, but in all truth it is because i want to know everything you would ever want to say.

6. i have been out of the country, only once, to do mission work in romania.

7. i prefer mint tea.

8. i enjoy grocery shopping.

9. i wish there were more Psalms.

10. i have the best intentions for calling you back...but i hate talking on the phone. i enjoy looking at your face. i think of you often, thus you're more likely to receive a letter in the mail before i'll call you back "just to talk". nothing personal.

11. i admire patience above a lot of things.

12. i collect slides.

13. and old journals.

❄️Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes, Silver-white winters that melt into springs, These are a few of my favorite things 🎼🎶

Back in Fontainebleau after years away and delighted to see our favourite patisseries are still doing fine and still absolutely delicious. I'm going to gain 50kg on this trip...

I was tagged by cEntEr of thE stoRm

so know I must reveal 16 random things about me. 16?! Really?!?! I feel very self-centered... but I'll pull some outta my ass...

1. I drink too much. I love wine, beer and liqueur (don't shy away from any). I have one drink almost everyday. It's my way to unwind after the kids are in bed. And when I don't have kids... yikes.

2. I consider myself a "Jack of all trades, master of none." When I put my mind to it, I can do pretty much anything. I can rewire an entertainment system, build a computer, sew an outfit, cave dive, cook a gourmet meal, do the east coast swing, catch a large mouth bass... but I don't think I'm really great at any.

3. I have not befriended a women because I was attracted to her. Just as I would a man if I were attracted to him or vice versa. Like the saying goes, "If you play with fire, you're gonna get burnt." That's all I'll say about that.

4. I don't pamper myself. I go months without a hair cut. I don't get manicures or pedicures. I've never had a facial or spa treatment. I don't spend the money or time on myself. I just take care of myself... at home.

5. I love, love, love popcorn. I used to eat an entire bag every day after school. I limit the carbs today, but I will not watch a movie unless I have a bowl of buttery, salty popcorn on my lap.

6. Every time I go on vacation (even for just a weekend) I create a folder. I have to research on the area and have a game plan. I like to know where to go, how to get there and as much information about the place as possible. Anal... I know.

7. I won a Kareoke award a few years ago. It happened to be a song I knew by heart and sing in the shower all the time... so lots of practice. The drinks I had prior helped me to belt it out too. Good times.

8. My parents were very religious when I was young so we were at church often. I used to "speak in tongues", dance and sing my heart out every Sunday.

9. I have notebooks filled with poems, stories and just mind emptying writings. I keep them hidden.

10. There is not one food that I don't like. I love to try new foods and just haven't found one that I don't like. Snails, frog legs, gator tail, oysters... yummy.

11. I am very energetic, rarely serious and always looking for a laugh. I don't like wining, complaining or negativity. I believe life is what you make it. If you speak bad... well then, it's bad. Mind over matter... you can make yourself happy. =)

12. I used to have horrible menstrual cycles (sorry guys). I mean... in bed the first day, throwing up from the pain, shaking... worse than anyone I've known or even heard about. Now I'm on Mirena and haven't had a period in 14 months! Awesome!

13. I used to live in a small trailer in South Carolina out in the middle of nowhere. There were rats and opossums and other horrors all around. Luckily, it was only for about a year.

14. I smashed my middle finger in the door of a '65 Mustang when I was little. The nail came off and eventually I grew another, but it's bigger than the other one. There went my hand modeling career.

15. I am very sarcastic, a smart-ass and critical (in a joking way). I am never mean or hurtful to anyone... purposely.

16. I don't cry. When my girlfriends and I see a sappy movie and they start to cry... I feel bad and awkward. Sometimes I even laugh. I am emotional but not expressive.

One from last year I didn't get round to processing.I'm looking forward to these conditions, one of the perks of the onset of winter :)

“We photograph things in order to drive them out of our minds. My stories are a way of shutting my eyes.”

―(Franz Kafka)―

But when we photograph ourselves, there is an insatiable curiosity, gnawing away... do we really look anything like that stranger?

This beautiful waterfall is located in Yoho National Park, Canada. I used a 10-stop ND filter to cut the bright daylight and create a long exposure to give a silky drama to the river and waterfall. The trick, of course, is to focus first before putting on the darkening filter, and then turn off autofocus so your lens doesn't start hunting for a focus point because it will be too dark for it to find one with the filter on.
