The sky ,that is, as the 1W93 from Cardiff crosses Malltraeth Viaduct en route to Holyhead , and 67014 providing the power.

But is it a sunflower?!

I have no idea if this is useful.

It breathes. It dreams. And, at night, beneath a low-hanging fog, it shambles through the shadows with its red eyes and funereal soul. The swamp has a spirit, and it walks on two legs. A monster that was once a man…

I met this elemental creature, who shares a connection to all plant life on Earth, at New York Comic Con, where you never know who you might run into.

Impressive beauty, almighty Volcan de San Miguel. All 3 photos pictured in the same day, all from more than 40Km distance, different angles, all in the drought season and one can see the effect of brown grass contrasting with some resistant green trees. From this angle (SW) one can see the part on the top that had the eruption couple of months before.

Localizado en San Miguel, a 130 Km de San Salvador, es el mayor Volcan del pais y quizás de Centroamérica. Imenso, imponente y ahora dando aires de agresividad con una reciente erupcion q no duro mucho. De impresionante belleza.

Chasing after and catching his tennis ball is JJ's favorite thing to do..He is very obsessive over his tennis balls. He can ignore almost everything else when he is outside and you are tossing one of these for him. If you dont toss one he will bring one to you and sit right in front of you with the most pitiful look until you do throw it. There is no single toss either...once you start he is like the Energizer Bunny and will keep on going until your arm starts to hurt from throwing it so much... Yes...we do this several times a day...roughly at least every hour.... I am well stocked in Advil and Alleve lol

Whether it be the result of getting stuck in the thick mud, or the result of a bit too much pressure on the brakes, or both, this 18th Fighter Squadron P-40E came close to a face plant. The weather conditions in the Aleutians were unlike those found in any area of any other front during WWII, and incidents like this were more common there than elsewhere. This particular incident doesn't look to have been too serious, although that engine was almost certainly changed soon after...

Everyone has secrets, some darker than others.

Masters Of Art: "Son of Man"

The Son of Man is a Belgian surrealist painting. It was painted in 1964 by René Magritte. The painting was originally intended to be a self-portrait. The painting conveys a man in an overcoat wearing a bowler hat and standing in front of a short wall. Behind this short wall are a cloudy sky and the sea. You cannot see the face of the man, since it is largely obscured by a floating green apple. However, you can see the eyes of the man as they are peeking over the edge of the apple. If you are keen enough when looking at the painting, you will notice that the left arm seems to be bending backwards at the elbow.

Seen and Unseen

Magritte said that the painting just shows us about humanity. He says that everything we see hides some other thing yet we still want to see what is hidden by what we see. There is always some sort of interest in what is hidden and what the visible does not show us. This brings about some sort of conflict between the visible that is present and the visible that is hidden.

This painting is similar to another painting by Magritte. It resembles The Great War on Facades. When you look at this other painting you will notice that it also consists of a person standing in front of a wall overlooking the sea. Here, it is a woman holding an umbrella and her face is covered by a flower. Magritte is fascinated by surrealist art as he also has another similar painting called Man in the Bowler Hat. Here, the face of the man is blocked by a bird and not an apple.

One Thing~Finger 11~

Restless tonight

Cause I wasted the light

Between both these times

I drew a really thin line

It's nothing I planned

And not that I can

But you should be mine

Across the line

If I traded it all

If I gave it all away for one thing

Just for one thing

If I sorted it out

If I knew all about this one thing

Wouldn't that be something

I promise I might

Not walk on by

Maybe next time

but not this time....

Well, it's official. I will be graduating on May 24th, 2009. Yesterday I got all the required signatures, burned copies of the images of my work to two discs, turned in the final copy of my 30 page thesis paper to the library (to which they even took out a ruler to make sure I had the 1.5" margin correct), and handed in my receipt to the registrar as proof that I handed in my thesis paper (after placing it in her hand I threw my hands up in the air and exclaimed. "I'M FREE," to which the whole room laughed). Cory and I then celebrated by eating donuts, HOORAY! :D

I went to art school because I knew it was the only way I was going to be happy. I make art because I need to... it is what makes me a full person. It has been a rough year and there were times that I didn't know if I was going to be able to make it... but I did and I feel better than I have in a long time about myself, my art, and the direction my life is going.

It's going to be strange not to be in school anymore: my whole life has been about school. Now I finally have the chance to live life... it's fucking scary... but I have a feeling it's going to be wonderful too.

Children once played in these fields, there was laughter in this house..now all that is left ... are memories.....

LUCK (for sure) driving down the road and had to stop and see this for myself....

I do not know what gorgeous thing

the bluebird keeps saying,

his voice easing out of his throat,

beak, body into the pink air

of the early morning. I like it

whatever it is. Sometimes it seems the only thing in the world that is without dark thoughts.

Sometimes is seems the only thing

in the world that is without

questions that can't and probably

never will be answered, the

only thing that is entirely content

with the pink, then clear white

morning and, gratefully, says so.

Velella velella are usually deep blue in colour, but their most obvious feature is a small stiff sail that catches the wind and propels them over the surface of the sea. Under certain wind conditions, they may be stranded by the thousand on beaches. Like other Cnidaria, Velella velella are carnivorous.

They catch their prey, generally plankton, by means of tentacles that hang down in the water and bear cnidocysts (also called nematocysts). The toxins in their nematocysts are effective against their prey. Velella velella's nematocysts are relatively benign to humans, although each person may respond differently to contact with the nematocyst toxin. It is wise to avoid touching one's face or eyes after handling them, and itching may develop on parts of the skin that have been exposed to their nematocysts.

Glad to be back!

The wonderful thing about Sparkle is meeting so many friends that I'd only known remotely. I cannot list them all, but Sara is special because we have known each other for over twenty years. Long ago, we worked side by side for several years and all that time neither of us had the remotest idea that one day we'd meet again like this.

This female cardinal and I have had a thing going on for several weeks. She has really been nice to me allowing several good photo sessions.
