The fishermen I spoke to were certain that they were about to make the catch of the day. Apparently Penmon Point is one of the best fishing spots in the UK.

we had our first typhoon of the year yesterday and left today. it was a welcome rain as temperatures were reaching up to 38 decrees centigrade the past few weeks! hot summer indeed!

an orchid i found in the gardens of greenbelt mall. unusual for this type to be growing on the ground and not hanging from trees.

I almost messed around and waited too long, the dogwood flowers were mostly gone when I shot this.

February's Drawing Per Day. Word is Wild.

Day 283

^^^ Hahaha, as if that's still a thing. I'm not sure what's going on with this project, I haven't really been shooting anything because I don't want to fall back into the trap of uploading a random photo that means nothing to me just to make the deadline. I'd rather take three years to finish this with photos I am proud of than upload something rushed that I will inevitably end up loathing.

That being said, Emilie and I went back to one of my favourite abandoned houses on Monday! We were in the master bedroom and we climbed out one of the windows onto the roof, where I found a lovely pile of broken glass. Naturally I brought some in with me and took a selfie with it. This is yet another photo of me feeling disconnected and lost. That is completely not what it was supposed to mean but some stuff happened in photoshopland and I kind of just went with it.

**Texture from D. Sharon Pruitt

"Yeah, fuck you too!"

Just remembered I had finished this.

And yes I made three separate figures.

I watched the thing on Halloween and I absolutely loved it. the practical effects are breathtaking and Kurt Russel is great as always.

For the hairpiece, I modified a Han Solo hairpiece.

The beard is sculpted.

The hood is from the TLG Scarlet Spider.

The jacket is made from a Lego pirate sail, the with the fur collar sculpted with ProCreate. the TNT sticks are levers.

The Flamethrower is made from a BrickArms spy pistol with another one glued on, then some other piece that I'm forgetting. It's attached with some lego string, and the two main tanks are made from two cylinder 1x1's, bars and 1x1 flat studs on the bottom, and procreate the round the top and smooth them out, the smaller one is all procreate, and the gunmetal tube is from some bad apple headphone I had lying around.

The pants pockets are made of sails as well.

I used a mix of Testors paints and Craftsmart to paint this.

The base was a colossal pain in the ass to make, but I think its a cool addition to the figure. It's made to look like Mac's petri dish from the blood test scene. The main base is a Minimate base, and the sides were some action figure plastic I used a heat gun on to bend it around the base. The blood is Tamiya paints transparent red.

All in all, I think this turned out to be one of my better figures.

What do you think?

Thing Of Beauty

Hothouse Flowers

Look out your window on a winter's morning

Your breath is steam and there's frost falling

And the sun casts a spell upon the road

A thing of beauty is not a thing to ignore

Great song of beauty

Stand by the river on a moonlight evening

Lovers are loving and grievers are grieving

And the water does a dance upon the stones

I sit and listen, I will not ignore

A thing of beauty is not to be ignored

Can't you see (can't you see)

The secrets of the dawn? (thing of beauty)

Can't you feel (can't you feel)

Can't you feel it in the place that you come from? (thing of beauty)

Face up to morning

Face up to day

Face up to reality

And face up to your ways

Second image from our trip to Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains last Saturday.

This was shot using my 70-200 lens, as I wanted to compress the scene.

A beautiful tree lined street, with hardly a car in sight.

Hope you like "Thing Of Beauty"

Cheers, Mike

"You see, what we're talkin' about here is an organism that imitates other life-forms, and it imitates 'em perfectly. When this thing attacked our dogs it tried to digest them ... absorb them, and in the process shape its own cells to imitate them."

Happy Furry Friday to all.

For the third visit of the Norwegian/Swedish free jazz trio of The Thing to Houston, I screenrprinted this 13" by 21" poster. They performed at the Latham Auditorium at the Christ Church Cathedral in Downtown Houston. A total of seven colors were used and Durotone Newsprint Aged was the paper of choice. A total of thirty posters were screenprinted for this show

I just wanted to do something a little bit different from the conventional jazz poster and The Thing pretty much embodies that.

A friend gave us a few clumps of dark purple bearded Irises some years ago. Now even after dividing them and sharing with the neighbors, they are over-taking our youngest daughter’s “Secret Garden”. I’m not sure what variety these are (maybe Superstition) but one thing is for sure- there are a lot of cool names for dark purple Irises! Men In Black, Hello Darkness, All Night Long, Blackwater, Old Black Magic to name a few. I imagine Shawn Spencer(James Roday) with his endless knack for dropping Pop Culture references moonlighting as a flower namer.😊

this is Thing One. It's a little space ship doodle I put together. I hope you like it.

I don't know what this is, but it's very pretty, although it does look as if it might devour me, tickling me with its hairy bits while it does so. I shall try to find it when it blossoms.
