MMNAU-22 picks up its cars from Mankato Yard to head to Aurora, SD. This daily turn has great lighting in the summer months, but it is a ballgame to see if they will make it to Judson before sunset in the winter. I shot it just west of Judson, and almost got screwed by the shadows. I'll post that shot when I feel like it.

The summer hath cometh.

On a slow day in May, the kids and I caught this TRRA 104 job pulling 18 coke loads out of the Eastern Connection on the north end of Madison Yard. They would pull "up the hill" through the SH interlocking then shove back down towards the Freight Mains north of SH. They would spend more time building a unit coke train for US Steel in Gary, IN via BNSF & CN. The 104 Job is using the current TRRA slug set 3007/307. Seems like TRRA has had many on and off tests with slugs. I haven't heard how these are working out.

Apparently, my new thing is having shots with suggestions of monorails, rather than actually, non-ethereal monorails in my shots. I really do like the reverse waterfall, the colors, and Monorail Red coming through.

There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.

We are making photographs to understand what our lives mean to us.

The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.

The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.

I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn’t photograph them.

Henry doing what he does best..

Henry is a previously abandoned 'rescue cat' pure white kitty who has had a very difficult start to his life with a very long story behind his circumstances. Henry was rescued, rehomed and adopted into the Axe household on December 27th 2024.

Henry is now completely safe in his new forever home and he doesn't need to worry about a thing anymore.

Henry was born circa 2022.

Congenital sensorineural deafness in white cats is very common however and thankfully Henry's hearing is perfect. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congenital_sensorineural_deafness_i...

A thing that is thistley.

Having my breakfast calmly this morning, but very sad, these words clearly filled my mind… I rushed to my computer, to write them down, before they are gone with the wind :

“Returning to the Past as a detouched and poised spectator and NOT as an active protagonist , it might become particularly useful and constructive for you : because you can calmly and non-judgmentally watch your past errors , and the errors of others : in order not to reproduce them into your life.

But being in the Present and the Now, it is always the best choice : because you can fulfill your Task : to really learn to LOVE yourself AND your fellow human beings !! And you will then learn, that giving true Love, is the Real Thing!! And, even more essential than receiving Love from others!! “

(This is the letter I addressed today to my 2 older children, because all of us terribly suffer because of a recent loss ; each one of us, in his/her own way…. ***Concerning my butterfly, she was one of the flying residents of our summer house in Corfu…Some happy summers ago…)

Hudson Yards Vessel

C'mon, it looks like a parking garage. A spiral in the shape of a boomerang? (I have yet to climb it. I was too depressed by the experience of Hudson Yards to exert the energy.)

IORY 3043 and FLNX 6955 sit it the Indiana & Ohio Railway’s Ford Park. IORY 3043 is former B&O 3700 and FLNX 6955 is former B&O / Chessie 6955. FLNX was purchased by Cincinnati Scenic Railway and is on its way to Lebanon, Ohio where it will eventually be restored and returned to service pulling passenger excursions for CSR. Makes ya wonder if these two were ever paired together many years ago. January 29, 2021.

And just what do we really know about any thing. I think about his fact a lot.

Look me up on Facebook.

Let me know you know me from here.

I begin my photographic creative journeys with my son AJ at my side because he adds inspiration into the visual experience. I attach several objects to a mobile in our living room and turn up some music. Then I basically dance with my camera in hand, hoping to catch the wonderful flickers of beautiful colors, shapes and movements from the spinning and dancing motion that takes place. Then I use my Macintosh computer with Photoshop to enhance several images and combine them into the final composite prints. Some of the images are not composites but are always enhanced in some way that I feel might be beautifully aesthetically pleasing images to enjoy. These images can really feel and look as if they have been painted by a magic brush. I feel a rush of great joy in seeing one printed and hung on the wall. I feel like they sing, dance and play for my eyes and consider the finished works to be fine art photography. What intrigues me most about all photography are the colors, shapes, and patterns which give me mini vacations and provide great rest and relaxation. My great hope is that I can also offer this same joy to everyone who see my photographs. When it comes to making lasting images and having a great investment in photographic art, the best prints possible are now found to be on aluminum. The colors are vibrant and the luminescence is breathtaking. The detail and resolution are incredible. So you will get from my abstracts just fantastic eye popping art . Paper based prints will last about 20 years. The Aluminum prints are about 150 years for the true color stability. This makes it possible for even your grandchildren to enjoy them. But the best part is this can be a great investment for your love of photographic art. Some of my prints are in limited editions. If you would like to make an investment in my art prints for yourself, please let me know.

I'd watched the sunrise from my sleeping bag and just knew it was going to be a good day.

Spirituality is a very personal thing. If more humans would recognize and respect this fundamental principle, our 'leaders' would be less capable of using 'religion' to their adavantage.

La spiritualité est une chose très personnel. Si les humains reconaissaient et respectaient ce principe, les soi-disants 'meneurs' de ce monde seraient moins capable d'utiliser la religion à leurs avantages.
