At the top of the Sunrise chair, many powder hounds chose to hike to the top of "Thimble Peak." Kirkwood Ski Resort.
I buckled down this morning and did all the stitching on the binding. Voila! I'm delighted with this simple and cheerful quilt for the summer. I used a charm pack, plus additional fabric (not from the same line) for the borders and backing. The binding is the same fabric as the back, as I really liked it. Instead of quilting it, I tied it, using a random placement of blue and green embroidery floss knots. It's about 60" square.
thimble came to us with a wig,she has her hard cap on,i was wondering, does anybody have a kenner scalp they can part with,or a nice reroot service? most customizers are busy at the moment, and we don't know how to reach anyone about this since it's a no fm's and no emails, and we don't have bk either...i would like her kenner hair to be redhair and/or a reroot would be nice as well,a pink mohair one :)

Day 5 of Beyond beyond
I finally had time to view kim's videos...and learn a few new tricks...not only did I apply a soft whitish/yellow linear gradient, I used the sybil texture trick!
I was a little stuck on what to photograph...but since my mom passed away 4 years ago on this day...and she taught me so much about being creative (and how to sew!) I thought I'd do a little tribute...
This isn't is good as I had hoped it would come out as but my mom's quilt group is having it's 20th year anniversary this year and they asked me to take some pics for them a slide show for their quilt show and I thought this would be a cute one to do to show their hands with their thimbles, but it turned out harder than i thought with all the arthritic hands and the fact they wear their thimbles on different hands, but anyway, they liked it ....i'm hoping to get another shot at it before the quilt show and get a better shot of them.
I used the flash so everyone could see what he really looks like. He hates me for it now. :D
Taken mid-September 2006 -- he'll be three (3!!) on October 31st. :)
