I took my package (6 to a pkg) of ceramic thimbles. I drilled holes in the top of them. I put a line of glue around the bottom edge and rolled them in gold glitter. I put a knot in the middle of a faux cranberry stem, put the stem through the hole and put a loop on top. I added string to the loop. VIOLA! A bell ornament.

Historic Thimble Shoal Lighthouse at the entrance to Hampton Roads. Constructed in 1914 and automated in 1964. It is the third lighthouse at this location.
Posted to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 (NRHP Structure #02001436). Listed on the Virginia Landmards Register in 2003.

So as I'm strolling by my dresser, I discover to my dismay that ONCE AGAIN these three have acquired something troublesome.
Me: ...what's with the tiger?
Lulu: Her name is Ashley.
Ashley: MEOW.
Me: And what is Ashley here for, exactly?
Cherry: For playing with!
Lulu: Protection.
Eyre: A coat, eventually.
We all stare in alarm at Eyre. I decide it's best to just ignore that particular statement and focus on the issue at hand.
Me: What do you mean by protection, Lulu?
But Lulu hushes up and no one else is willing to tell me anything. Well, Ashley says a lot, but I don't speak Meow. I have a slight suspicion about what is going on, so I leave these girls alone with their new...pet, while I try to get to the bottom of this new development.
It's pouring rain here again today, so thought I'd dry out with a shot from Arizona.
Well named, Thimble Peak looks a lot like a giant sewing thimble placed high on the big ridge that separates Sabino and Bear Canyons in the Santa Catalina Mountains north of Tucson.
During our windy decent from Mt Lemmon, Thimble Peak kept coming in and out of view, when finally we had a chance to stop for a quick snap. Around the next bend from this spot, were about 12 'big gun camera' photographers, all lined up and waiting to get 'the' sunset shot. I don't know where they parked, but they were jammed together like sardines on a very narrow part of a very twisty road! Photographers....you gotta love'em!
Chester, Illinois is the home of Popeye creator Elzie Crisler Segar, and there is no way you'll leave town without that piece of knowledge. It seems like every public space in Chester has Popeye, Olive Oyl, Brutus, or some other Thimble Theatre character. And there were a lot of characters! I'd never heard of a large number of them.

This little lady is named Amelia Thimble and she has stolen my heart. I just want to put her in my pocket and take her everywhere I go! I am amazed by her joints since she's SO small!! She's wonderful!
She's made by Wilde Imagination. Her bio says:
