Thimble photos on Flickr

Having Googled this company, I think this cotton reel could date from the 1940's to 1950's, therefore, it probably belonged to my Grandmother, or even her Mother.

My Grandmother (1900-1987) inherited things like this from her Mum (1868-1952), and my Dad's sister inherited from her Mum, and I inherited from my Aunt (1921-1992).

The thimble I bought in a charity shop a few weeks back, for all of 50p :)))

From the collection thimbles from my mother I choose this one with the leaves for the theme vintage. The thimble is 2,5 cm large and 1 cm wide.

Macro Monday theme - "Souvenir"

I have been collecting thimbles of our trips and adventures for quite awhile, but it gets harder and harder to find them. Found this one in a little shop in Moab. I used the side light technique from last weeks macro Monday and changed to spot metering. This kept the gold band from blowing out.
